OEM HID swap VS Stealth HID VS Silver Star

I am a newbe here - 1st post. I have a 2005 300c.
I have educated myself as best as I can through searching the existing posts.

Is it true that I can upgrade my existing halogen projector headlamps with a set of OEM HID headlamps? There is nothing additional (wiring upgrades) etc. involved?

Another option would be to get a HID upgrade kit (like offered from Stealth) however these use the existoing halogen projector lenses and I have not been able to detemine if that is an issue to be concerned with or not.

Of course I assume I can upgrade the halogen bulbs to a sivler star or equivalent and get a decent upgrade as well.

I would appreciate any feedback, suggestions or pitfalls these options present.

Thanks in Advance.

I don't have projectors in my MSRT8, but the Stealth bulbs were a drop-in, plug-and play (with capacitor in the loop) for the halogens I had. I do not believe they will present any problem for the 300C projectors.

Just remember that you have to reverse the first capacitor power connector (or rewire the lead to the capacitor's connector...

In my last car (BMW 750i) I replaced the H7 Osram Silver star's on the dip with an aftermarket HID from China very cheaply bought I hasten to add. I opted for a 6000K temperature as anything over that has been shown to have a light bleed over in the dip pattern if you do a search on Zenon you will find this tutorial article,Anyhoo, I dropped them in it did not alert the bulb failure monitor as expected as on BMW it senses the current through the filament and obviously a xenon has no filament, it is a gas only but BMW cleverly allow a default sense in this as it was an option.
At night after the clocks change in winter it's dark from mid/late afternoon at worst but! the transformation was beyond simple words, it was incredible sharp defined beam blue white and the throw and depth made the risk worth it.

I hope this rambling post helps in your thoughts

Good luck,,

Don't forget the special coupon code HIDINTRO to receive $25 off our kit!

Follow GoofyTIm's excellent post to install.......pretty straight forward.
here the link to his install post. click here.

You will be amazed at the difference! Of course you can install silverstars and various other halogen upgrade bulbs but at the price we are selling the kits you might as well go HID. You will not belive you were driving with halogens after you drive onteh freeway for the first time......plus they look cool.

Go see more here,

Hope this helps.
