Thumbs down Huge Hid Problems! Radio Interferance

okay after months of decision making i seen HEMI4ME's thread i made up my mind and went with 8,000K low's and fogs (was gonna go with 12,000K originaly) so they came in today and i expected the flickering problem so instead of wiring up relays i bought the plug & play anti-flickering kit from stealth auto.

when i turned them on in the garage, the signal to the radio in the garage went out. i turned off the lights and reception came back. Same thing happens to the reception in the car! when i turn the HID's on i get no signal on the radio! wtf!

anybody else experience this????? any way to fix this??

okay ive done some research and i guess this is a common problem. if it helps the brand of the HID kit is Xentec. if i dont come up with a solution im going to return them on monday. Is this something that has to be sacrafised for the upgrade? is this an unspoken about issue thats supposed to be ignored?

I wouldn't ignore it for any upgrade.... I would try the company tech line, or get another brand. Give the vendor a call to see if they can help...

This actually happened to me when I wired up my AAC halos, so when I reinstalled them, I grounded the neg. wires to different grounding posts away from the posts that were already grounding other things and made sure the wiring I had ran away from other wires in the engine compartment. Now I have halos and clear radio reception. Try it out, may make the difference.

i dont have an aftermarket relay hooked up, i ordered the stealth auto anti flicker capacitor. so should i splice the OEM negative headlight cable and ground it somewhere? i did some research and this is a very common problem. I think the ballast is sending out some sort of signal that kills everything. It sounds like a high pitched sound maybe only dogs can hear. i can barly hear it when im up close to the ballest (its the dog in me)

**STAY AWAY FROM XENTEC HID'S**
