Xenondepot – Conversion of a Chrsyler 300c SRT8 that has stock 4300k HID’s and halogen H10 fog lights…

Steve from Xenondepot was extremely helpful and quick to respond when I asked him about converting the lights on my 300c SRT8. I knew I wanted to upgrade but was concerned about how blue the light would be.

Why the concern about having cooler looking lights you ask? Well I drive an average of 160 kms per day to and from work, and during the winter months that means long drives in the dark – the last thing I need is to be suffering eye strain from severe blue coloration which I had been reading about in the odd forum posts.

Given all that, Steve suggested I use their new 6000k D1S bulbs to replace my stock 4300k HID bulbs and match with the 9005 conversion kit using 6500k bulbs, that would keep me from getting “too blue”.

So pictures are worth a thousand words right…well here they are, so that you can see for yourself.

What you are going to get….

The before shot – my stock low beam HID’s & fog lights aimed at the inside garage wall in the morning

And here is what I ended up with by the afternoon… pretty amazing difference!

Despite the time stamps of these pictures, actual installation time was 1:55 hour for the fog conversion kit, plus10 minutes more to change the stock low beam HID’s with the DS1 bulbs.

Personally I love the the new look, I am amazed at just how much clearer I can see the road surface at night, and love the sharp look the SRT8 has now.

Some more before and after…..

Sorry, a little glare on the after shot, plus looks like I ended up crouching lower down to take the shot… oh well, I won’t quit my day job to be a photographer that’s for sure…besides it was raining like crazy, that’s Vancouver for ya J

Ok…the kit and caboodle!

An easy Paypal order and 3 workdays later here is what arrived….

Professional packaging, right from the start I felt I was dealing with people who knew what they were doing. Lots of clear instructions backed up with extensive links to online installation links. How easy can they make this!

D1S bulbs

The Process….

Ok, as detailed as I can make it folks…. Let’s start by doing the fog light conversion, and don’t forget…remove your negative battery connection to prevent shocking yourself!
