Talking **300C SRT8 Stealth HID FOG Install with pics and video! 8000K **

Pedro reporting ....

Firemedic23 called us and told us he was having a tough time installing his fog HID kit. We told him (since he was kinda local) to come on down and we'd help him out!

First off our Digital Slim ballast HID kits are $199.95 with LIFETIME Warrenty and FREE Anti-flicker capacitors !!

If you buy 2 kits the price is reduced to $174.95!

Since we love you guys if you want to buy just one you can use the coupon code HIDINTRO during checkout to receive the same $25 off.

(300C takes 9006 for the low beam & H10 for the fogs.)Most popular color is 6000k(white) with 8000k(blue) a close second. We do also offer 3000 (yellow), 4300/4500 (stock yellowish), 6000,8000, 12,000 and ABOVE (per request).

Firemedic23 started out by replacing his stock SRT8 HID bulbs with out 8000K
D1

available here.

Onto the FOG Install.

Here is the whole setup laid out. SIMPLE PLUG 'N' PLAY !!

0- Remove undertray and raise car and put car on jack stands (be safe).

1- Insert the HID bulb into the housing.

2- Plug the HID bulb into the ballast (2 small weather proof connectors)

3- Install the capacitor into the ballast make sure to plug it into the orientation so that negative meet negative and positive plugs into positive. on the ballast there is markings for + and -.

4- Connect the anti-flicker capacitor to the stock bulb plug.

*** Make sure to flip the capacitor plug so that the polarity is straight. (negative to negative and positive to positive)***
If you
do not the capacitor will fail and burst. ****

5- Secure our weather proof lightweight ballast anywhere you wish using supplied zip ties and double sided tape.

(you don't need to remove you fog light to install the bulb, we removed it just for the picture. You can change the bulbs with the fog housing in place.)

Here is a comparison on the STOCK H10 halogen bulb and the Stealth HID H10.

The reason Firemedic23 was having difficulty installing his bulbs was identified.

Looks like the O-Ring on our HID bulb is a bit too fat! and it can buldge out and make install difficult!

So the EASY fix was to pull the SKINNIER O-ring from the stock bulb and put it on the HID bulb. Presto! Now the bulb installs like butter.

Here is the fatter o-ring bulging out.

Here is a comparison of the O-Rings

Since these are universal kits the Fatter O-ring insures the most universal tight seal. Seams like the 300 fogs are a bit tight.

installing the bulb......

The install continued.....

Step 3 - plug in the capacitor into the Slim digital ballast.

Please note the clearly marked female plug! So just match Red wire to + and black wire to -. It will snap lock into place.

Step 4 - Plug Capacitor into stock bulb plug (fog or low beam)

***On all LX cars the stock plug is reversed. So when you plug the anti-flicker capacitor in just make sure to check the colors on the wires. The pictures below should make this very clear.**
If you
do not the capacitor will fail and burst. ****

Again (same as above but different view ) pictured when connecting into stock fog plug.

Step 5 - GET CREATIVE! Mount and secure the ballast and wires.

Since our ballast is so small and lightweight makes this step much easier!

Take you time and you can mount it in a variety of locations. We were a bit pressed for time (after all it is Friday!) and Firemedic23 and a long drive home thru traffic and we did our best to mount and secure the ballast and wires.

Passenger side was zip tied to the frame rail and another wire bundle.

QUICK view of the back of the FOG light area with HID bulb installed. As you can see there is plenty of room to remove and install the bulbs without having to remove the housing.

Drivers side ballast stuck to frame rail and secured with zipties to the frame rail.
Remember you can mount it anywhere you want!

The result ? One happy 300C owner!

These are bright! Check out the pics we took in bright daylight!!!

Thanks for coming down Firemedic23 !! Was great to meet you.

Let us know if you need anything!

That looks great, and a great find on reusing the stock O-ring. I could not have written it up, or illustrated it any better if I had received my fog HIDs before this.

Congrats Pedro and FireMedic23!

Congrats Pedro and FireMedic23!
Actually, Firemedic had used very hot halogens in his fogs attempting to achieve a "HID look" and his fog light housings were melted at the top badly.

At this point I think maybe his housing might of been a bit warped. Maybe that's why the o-ring did not fit....

and....BTW

I just tracked your Fog light order. Fedex says it was delivered Wed. Oct. 10th @ 4.20pm.

I PM'd you the tracking number just in case.

I would love for you to report what you find during your install. I would be great to confirm if indeed the o-ring is to fat or if it really was a warped housing in Firemedics car.

Once you get to it please report! Take some pics and let us know how the install went. It might be a bit different on your magnum. You can now refer to my post to help you out.

I love to see how and where you mount the ballasts. There a hundreds of ways to mount them and some do it better than others. It definitely helps that they are small and light when it comes to that step.

It also helps to have some tunes in the garage, a cold beer and a light breeze....sounds like a fun weekend project.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Thumbs up wow!

I have your turn signals bulbs......love'em

I didn't know you guys had factory HID replacement bulbs!

That video sold me! that looks killer and the install looks like a snap.

I've seen cheaper kits, but you can't beat that lifetime warranty! Plus those small ballasts look sexy. Glad you guys figured out the flickering problems and are including them in the kits. Nice move. I never felt like going thru all the trouble to make them on my own thats why I never got hid fogs...

I'll be placing my order this weekend! Can't wait to install these!

nice work stealth....BTW your new site looks great!

Any updates on those Carbon fiber kits Aaron said he was working on? I would jump that on a second!

I want to order the HID kit but before I do I would like to know which is the closest color match to the original HID headlights. The 6000k(white) or the 8000k(blue) or the 8000K D1?

Stock headlights are about 4300k. We have a 4300k HID kit for your fogs available.

Let us know if you have any questions.
