Problems w/ 9005s as fogs??!!

Ok I know that our cars use the 9145 foglight bulb but I see alot of guys using the 9005 instead. I know these are normally used has high beam bulbs and have a higher wattage rating so I'm asking has anyone had a problem using these bulbs? Any melted harnesses or foglight housings? Any problems with on coming drivers and the brighter fogs? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Actually, I think the low beam bulbs are 9006s... aren't they?

Hello,

your fogs are 9145/H10. We have had many members use 9005 kits with no problems at all.

We also have 9145/H10 fitment as well.

Are you interested in a particular colour temperature?

I ran the 100w halogen bulbs in my fogs for more than a year with no issues. I have had the 9005's in for almost a year, also with no issues.

When using a 9005 bulb for the foglight you have to make sure its 35 watts. Anything over could melt the wires/housing.

Be really really careful with higher wattage bulbs. I have seen many customers really damage their headlights and/or wiring.

Actually I think you want to say under 65 watts. The stockers are 45 watts already.

I use SSU 9005 and all is well.

O.K. I'm sticking with the 9145s. I'm currently running the SilverStars and now I'm wondering should I upgrade to the Ultras? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
