Its called a ............Flashlight.

You can get them just about everywhere, and for less than 2 bucks.

If you do a search of this site, there are a few people who installed a light
to their hood that comes on when you open the hood.

Its an easy install, and it costs about 30 bucks.

I bought two of the Jeep Cherokee engine lights, and I've installed one on the Magnum SRT8. Gonna wait until warmer weather in the spring to do the 300C. You'll need to light and some additional wiring to make it reach to the area of the fuse box power terminal, but other than that it's a fairly easy install as has been said.

In love with my first wife and first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife, but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!

If you don't like the flashlight idea because you need both hands to work on something and you don't feel like wiring a new light, here few more options:

>These lights are 12V fluorescent, portable and they plug into your lighter and some have aligator clip that can be hooked up to your battery terminals. On the 300 the battery is in the trunk but you have boosting option under the hood too. Like the flashlight you can use it anywhere around the car if you the one with the long wire.

>There is also LED lights used mainly for outdoor lighting but can be use for under too since it's 12 volt.

>For people who has cordless power tools, there is also a fluorescent light option that you can get that mount onto your battery pack.

>Here few links that I selected and my favorite one is the last one. $12.00, hooks anywhere, plugs into the lighter and has aligator clips.

OK, so once I get these items I will easily be able to install the light and route the wiring....then my expertise ends. When it comes to auto-electrics a have thumbs in the middle of my hands.

Could someone who has done this show a "hook up for dummies" photo as to where exactly I will tap in to get power to the light(s)?

I'd hate to have to take the car in because I did something stupid.
