aftermarket hid flicker

i'm having a problem with my aftermarket hid's. when it's cold out, which is a lot around here, they flicker when accelerating or any change in rpm. i have relays wired into the hid's. hid's workded fine till it started getting cold.

my fogs are doing it too... im just going to deal with it mine arent that bad just while the car is warming up...

Sounds like your relays may not be up to the cold. Stealth Auto uses capacitors and I've not had any problems with changes in performance based on ambient temperature.

on the 300c you need to run a cancel box. basically just a fancy little box full of cap's and a few other odds and ends.

this will cure flicker on all dodge vehicles and many euro's

i sell hid's and have done several of these cars. i dont usually deal in mail order however.

a relay is an electromagnetic switch. tell me how the cold is going to affect there mechanical operation?

i could understand the bulbs not liking the cold, since tungsten does not conduct until its warm.

what about using the 4700uf 35v cap instead of a relay?

that was my point. the cold has no effect on the relay. flicker needs a cap to be corrected. however if its really freaking cold outside a cap is not going to correct the flicker inside the bulb for lets say the first 30 seconds. the arc will wander around cold tungsten entire the entire thing is up to operating tempature.
