hid replacement bulbs

I'm looking for a replacement bulbs for the 300c srt8. I have HID's and want to replace it with 5000k bright white. I seen the 6000k, 5000k and 4300k(mine) all lined up. I love the bright white in comparison to the other two. 6000k has a bluish hint to it and the 4300k (stock) looks yellowish in comparison. I will be getting the 5000k hid kit for my fogs soon and would really like the head lights to match. Any help on where I can get the stock (D1) bulbs in 5000k would be greatly appreciated.

the 5000K D1S bulb is a good choice. it's not a popular bulb with the aftermarket, that's why it's harder to find. a quick search on google will lead you to some suppliers.

i would contact a supporting vendor on this forum:

http://www.300cforums.com/forums/xenon-depot/

my personal company imports HID kits direct from the manufacturers, so i'll give you some advice on what to look for when buying:

1. warranty, at least 1 year.
2. return policy (do you have to ship the bulb, or can you take a picture of it and they will replace).
3. shipping from where? overseas, or US seller?

all the best regarding your upgrade.

I think the standard D1S bulbs are about right. Going to a higher Kelvin range turns the light blue. You really can't see any better because the human eye is less sensitive to short wave length light. Unless you are going to wear military night or UV intensifier glass image gains are imaginary. I guess some of the signs may respond to UV but probably nothing else........

Xenon Depot is a good source of HIDs, but I would also say Stealth Auto offers HID kits as well. Slightly different working principle between the two... one uses relays and resistors, the other capacitors to prevent flickering on vehicles which didn't have OEM HIDs - not your case I know. But not sure how an aftermarket bulb will work with the remaining OEM HID "stuff" ... and if it will, you won't need all the other stuff that comes with these HID kits (and for which you pay).

Tim, D1S are direct replacements for stock bulbs. I just wanted to change the color to pure white(5000k) instead of the yellowish tint in the (4300k).

I agree with you. Many people think the higher the K the brighter the light meaning better visibility whereas in some cases it's the opposite.

the higher the k the more color, less lumens. which means they are less bright. not sometimes. always.
