Headlights... Anyone ever had this problem?

This was like this when i bought the car used. Its not a big deal but it kinda bugs me. You cant tell but it is concaved in at the melt spot.
Its only infront of the highbeams and only on the drivers side. They are stock Touring headlights.

Looks like whoever owned it before you may have had aftermarket bulbs and one exploded. That's all I can figure. Never seen that before either.

But if they exploded, wouldn't the chrome surrounding cone have been damaged as well?

Thats why i said it,we have lots of Aprilia 125's with projector lamps and the kids put higher wattage bulbs in and then they melt, but in fairness the bulbs on the Aprilia's are very close to the lens though

Yep, looks like a "hot spot" caused by a high watt bulb.

If you need a new light I have a Driver side touring light like new I can sell for like $60 shipped.

prob had a 100watt bulb in there, or 50watt hid.

also, are the glare shields removed from in front of the bulb? usually the bulb sits behind a reflector so the light must hit the rear reflector to be focused before passing through the lens.

all bulbs are in danger of exploding. not just aftermarket ones.

if you look at this link closely, you will see the part inside the lens that appears to be missing on yours.
