EVIC Upgrade?

Hi, My car is a 2007 CRD but I am trying to help an Italian member who's English isn't too good. He has carried out the modification to the headlight switch to give him Automatic Headlights. However his car is a 2005 AWD in Italy and the firmware on his EVIC is version 3.61 which doesn't give him a facility to alter the timing for his headlamps coming on and going off. Apparently headlamp alteration is only relevent from version 4.xx. Can anyone tell me if the EVIC firmware can be updated and upgraded to 4.xx using the Starscan or any other equipment?
Cheers John

I know who you're referring to John, but unfortunately it can't be flashed to a higher version. There are many threads on this, most for having the 1/4 mile timer added. I have heard mention that if the complete cluster was replaced it might work though, but it seems like a giant PITA to me. Not only that, but setting the odometer can only be reset by an authorized company. The dealer can't even do that.

Anyone seen something inexpensive and not ugly in the aftermarket that gives times like the new EVIC?

Sure, you can go to wal-mart get a $6.99 stop watch, meausring tape, and a spray can, lol. For what I have read there is no way to upgrade that, which it sucks. I would love to do the same, but oh well..

ps...I got the 4.07 version (9/12/05)
