do hids have to warm up

hey guys just got some hids for the whip from stealth they look sick but is it normal for them to have to warm up....like after 5 min they seem to be getting brighter is that normal thanks guys

I never thought about any 5 minute warm up. I have OEM HIDs and they fire right up and are already extremely bright. If they do get brighter after time, I am certainly not aware of it.

mine has a warmup time of about 20 or 30 seconds..i posted my video of mine a few threads below. take a look and see if its around the same time as yours

My HID's usually take about 30 seconds to fully heat up.
