Wow excuse me....you must be like the forum god or something. I'll make sure to send my posts so you can screen them and decide if the product has proven itself worthy of being mentioned. I stated my intentions in the first page of this post. I just bought the car and like the HIDS I bought, I don't claim to be an expert, IT IS ONE PERSONS OPINION OF ONE PRODUCT. As far as the other persons problem, I'm sorry thats not my problem. The members can make there own educated decision based on all the information in this forum. I know that in order to get the special harness you need to give them your make and model to get the harness and it states this in his ebay listing because most cars don't have the flickering problem, don't know if that happened or not but hopefully it gets resolved. As far as my feelings being hurt trust me there not. You could have said you didn't like the product based on whatever you think about it but instead you analyized my post history and attacked my new member status so it seems to me your the one with the problem. You gave your two cents first so I gave mine. GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Didnt get my SPECIAL DIGITAL HARNESS
hey guys I got one of those kits from HID gate and Im not sure but I dont think I got my SPecial digital harness... not sure what it is but I dont think I got it because my HIDs dont work completely. THe thing is I installed them like normal and then I found out i had to reverse the polarity which actually got it working. I didnt know that the lights only worked when the car's engine isnt on. When the engine is on the lights flicker and then eventually go off in a matter of seconds. I asked the seller if I could actually get the special digital harness but if they have me pay that horrendous shipping for something thats supposedly free I think I would try an alternative way to get it to work. I heard that it is possible to introduce a capacitor to each side of the lights so that it pretty much solves the problem. I say NYC SRT8 do something but I have no idea how to get to that black clip looking thing. Well if anyone could give any input that would be really helpful, I hate driving with my parking lights its scary!

If your kit came with the hid wiring harness then all you need is the capacitor from radio shack(part# 272-1030). It costs $1.29. By two just incase you installed reversed . That will blow the capacitor. If it didn't come wit the hid wiring harness then you can purchase one from ebay for $22 or I can send you the extra one I have for the same price. Here is a link to it on ebay...
NYC STR8...I'm hoping the member who posted that problem reads this post and finds the fix...I noted you posted this in your HID thread as well. With all the issues with HIDs, I'll continue with my Silverstar Ultralights--no issues.
Pete..no harm no foul...sorry your Patriots loss.

If you were in the nyc area I would have shown you how easy to put in HID's correctly. They are a cat walk IMO and a great mod for the price.
I think i was actually the one who post up saying where i got my HID's from. I got it from HIDGATE and my **** came in 2 days with the harness, and it works fine? Also, it was flickering and it shut off on one of the ballast, i emailed the seller and he sent me out a relay pack got that **** in like 3 days no charge. But it ended up being a loose connection. Its been like 3 weeks and still works, i know its not a long time but whatever.

Actually - HIDs are easy if you install them right the first time. 300's (and from what I've read, Chryslers and Dodges in general) have odd/weird wiring, and that must be taken into consideration.
If you install, from the get-go, a recommended kit (either from hidgate, or the kit that I bought on ebay from a different seller in this thread) with a relay kit and capacitors, you will not have any problems.
Note how 95% of the problems in these forums with HIDs are solved by installing a relay and/or capacitors. Doing that from the start would prevent all this from happening
And I went from Silverstars to 6000k HIDs - wow, what a difference!

I have no ISSUES with electrical modifications. I have yet to install HIDs due to minor issues reported(some not working, capacitors required, reversing polarity and so forth). I like keeping my extended warranty intact when adding modifications. The information I posted in the previous post was from another members thread who was having issues. In fact, reading a bit more tonight he actually blew up the lights from what it appears lol I've added quite a few electronic modifications to all of my toys but I always add them when they are proven.
I know the HIDs are a cake walk because I've installed quite a few but I'm just not 100% sold on them. Considering my C is parked during the winter months I really don't have a need for them. The Silverstar Ultras have treated me fine so far, so when they burn out I'll probably make the jump to HIDs.
Now, if anyone wants to help me work out new skins, quickstart programs(not just stripping down a Windows OS), and power supply issues with integration into the CAN BUS system--that's AWESOME SHOOT ME A PM!!
Installing HIDs are a breeze, even a FORD owner can do that(umm..dang I have two fords--what am I saying )!
lol

Okay, I'm going to jump onto this thread if nobody minds, 'cause there are SO many HID threads, I don't know which one to pick.
I'm SURE this is gonna be a stupid question, 'cause I've been reading for over two months now every HID thread I've seen and NO where have I seen it talked about. I hope you'll be gentle if it's . Here goes.
How come nobody talks about HIDs for the high beams? That's where I'd really want to light up the night, so to speak. Lows and fogs would be great too, but why not the highs? Please don't me, 'cause I really like it here!
...one more, not as lame, I hope.
I've read that the price difference between the low-priced Chinese units and the higher priced ones like some of the supporting vendors sell is due to the quality of the bulbs, the Phillips and similar bulbs being much more expensive, but lasting much longer... longer as in lifetime or close to it, vs. a few months for the cheaper ones. Is that your experience? If so, what do you do? Buy a handful of spares to have on hand and just change the bulb when the old one blows?
Okay. I'll move off to the side now, waiting to take whatever I deserve. Thanks!

Unless your going to drive with your high beams on HID will be useless compared to halogen bulbs when it comes to that task. HID's take time to reach full brightness. Flashing hid high beams will give off less light than the cheapest halogen bulb in comparison. Now if you're going to drive with them on then yes but the will blind the heck out of on coming traffic.
Now about the bulb prices. I've seen and heard of guys having the cheaper bulbs on their car for over a year. Even if you had to change the bulb every 2 years it will still be cheaper than going with the expensive brands. You can get replacement bulbs from ebay for $25 a pair and the expensive ones cost $80-100 each . You do the math and see what will cost more in the long run.
My HID kit come with a 2 year warranty against any defect.
I had to get a ballast replaced (one of mine isn't quite strong enough), so since I had to pay shipping anyway, I had them throw in a pair of spare low bulbs and high bulbs - I paid a total of $50 for the spare bulbs and the shipping on the ballast and the spare bulbs - I'm sure if you order spare bulbs with the kits, they won't charge you extra shipping.
As for the highs - the only time the expense would be worth it is if you live out in the middle of nowhere and drive often for long stretches on deserted roads. But for the best bang-for-the-buck for highs, I would suggest a good pair of Silverstars.
