high beam changing?

Hello everyone i see everyone likes to change their headlights and fogs, but I never really hear about people changing their high beam bulbs... does everyone usually keep them stock? or do they get a different colour bulb or do they get HIDS for them too?

I simply replaced mine with a bulb that has blue glass yet still lights up white, to give it that blue look when it's off - if it wasn't a snowstorm right now, I'd take pics for you

Okay, so I'm a sucker for my new camera :P

But I went outside and snapped these for you:

You can still see the blue in the casing with the HIDs on, but they're not functional at the moment as I've taken the kit apart to add capacitors.

OK, help me out here. Are they illegal? Why would the cops care about a legal product used as intended?

well normally high beaming someone is no big deal. you just turn them off and all is well. But HID's are soo much brighter and in a non-projector lens housing there is no cut off to keep the light from going into the eyes of on-coming traffic. If tested this at night and if your staring into my HID high beams at night there is no seeing ANYTHING else.

AND yes they are illegal if they are aftermarket HIDs. At least in my state.
