HID Halo help

Ok, I want to know where I can tap in to get power for my halo's??? I am being told that the only place would be ignition that way they come on as soon as my car is turned on. I want them on when my daytimes are on but am told that I cannot tap into any of that existing wiring because of resistors. Thanks to mercedes everything is ran through a computer and messing with that wiring is not going to help me... Any better suggestions????

I take it your installing the AAC halos. I believe i remember them saying something about ppl normally running them to their parking lights. I have yet to do this so im not 100% on it but if you could provide some pics of the process you went through for the install I'd appreciated that for when i have to do the same thing.

Yeah you cannot run anything to the parking lights...any extra draw on that wiring will not work because of the resistors...I'm thinking I will have to goto ignition or something... I will try and get some pics of this when I do it...I may do it this weekend if I dont get any more responses.

You could always use a relay into the parking lights and a direct +12v tap on the other side of the relay to run the halo's?

The low voltage side of the relay would just be the trigger off the parking lights.

I didnt get any wiring diagrams with my halo's...Theres got to be someone who already hooked there's up on here and can share they're story... lol I'm not all that familiar with wiring, I can do some but nothing to crazy... I sort of understand what your saying with adding a 12v source with another relay and using the park lights as a switch but am not exactly sure the process your trying to tell me

running a relay is your best bet since this will limit the added current drawn through the parking lights circuit. go into Autozone or some auto parts store and it shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks. i have looked at the AAC halos but haven't got them yet since I'm not yet cmfortable with the dismantling of my headlights that they say you have to do. i have dual compact airhorns on my C in place of the stock units and used relays to power them. just run 12 gauge wire or so from the jump start lug by the fuse box and put dielectric grease on the terminals of the relay.
