Question Led Bulb Burnout??

I have been doing my research on here about the interior LED's and this seems like a great mod, but last night on another fourm I found lots of comments on these LED's burning out after only a few months?!

Has anyone experienced this? Where did you guy get your bulbs, which vendors? good and bad.....

And most importantly, I read that to preserve these LED's they must be off when starting the car, for those of you with the LED's installed, are you doing this or just throwing caution to the wind??? Thanks!

The only LED`s that I have had burn out was the map lights. So I bought the ones from VIP and so for they are holding up and a lot brighter.

...an LED light (if it is that) should rarely if at all burn out. LED's are designed to last forever providing the resistor that feeds it has the right value. If you feed an LED more it will die. It sounds to me like these LED kits are not made properly and dont take into consideration the amount of LEDS per bank and their respective resistor values. LED (light emitting diode) should require approx 1.2 -1.3V from a matched resistor. The voltage supply to the LED is the key here. Feeding it too much?? You will kill the lights. Feed then the right amount, they will last forever. Hope this helps you all.

All my bulbs are from autolumination. I've had them since last August, not one burnout. They do recommend using their inline resistors to help with longevity. I bought them but never used them.... No problems.

I got my bulbs from autolumination as well with no problems and it's been close to a year. The rear LEDs tend to light up very, very low when they should be off. This seems to be a common problem but besides that, I haven't had any issues..............well actually I had one. Both of the license plate lights burned out for some odd reason at the same time. Went with VIPs and haven't had any problems.

I don't want to hijack this thread so if you have any knowledge of LEDs and functional use, please check out this thread:
