I could be wrong. From my understanding DRL's run on 1/2 the amount of energy then your low beams. Considering HIDs require a bit more energy to turn on, I was informed that you'd lose the DRLs. I just called 2 Chrysler and 1 Dodge dealership here locally to pose this question--same answer from all 3 is that I either choose DRL's or HIDs can't have both.
Now, if I can have both of these features--I'm in for HIDs when these bulbs die on me(considering I just replaced the OEM with SU's). Point me to the literature so that I can educate myself if you don't mind
