halos installed with pics

i posted this story on the "other" forum and forgot to post it over here for you guys:

i just received my halos from the aac group buy - i got 6000k low beam rings and 8000k high beam rings, instead of the 6000k low/high that i ordered. i knew they were getting delivered today, so i disassembled my lights before the rings got there - big mistake. called up aac, said they'd be willing to fix the problem, but that i should check the lights first to make sure they are different. sure enough they are. but since i already had the lights apart, and i can't be without my car for any extended period of time, i said screw it ill go for it and go with 2 diff colors.

Barely noticeable in the day pics, except up close. Is it significantly different at night?

Drew,

I'm sorry but that would just tick me off something fierce! I guess I should count my lucky stars all of my lights were the 6K as I ordered, even though one of my "spare" rings does not function and I didn't get any of the "goodies" for being in the #1 spot for the GB. I sent a PM to Justin to get a replacement spare ring (I paid for em...)

I think I am just going to "hang back" and let everyone else get the halo's in and see how it works out for everyone. How did the install go for you? What did you use to seal them back up, and did they split apart fairly easy? Was cleaning out the stock gray sealant a PITA? (It sure was on my last pair I did, not a 300 but another newer Dodge).

Aside from the 2K color difference, they do look spectacular!

I hate to be the Grinch but for every success story I hear about the AAC halos, I always hear a horror story. (This isn't quite a horror story but you get the point.) I went with the K2s and they're not as bright but on well. They look good at night.

Sorry to hear about the misfortune. Personally, I feel they should send you some projectors with the correct halos in them and just let you swap those with the ones you have now. They should have to take them apart and worry about it.

Just my 2 cents. That sucks though.

sucks about them sending the wrong ones. Id say they definatly owe you some sort of compensation for your troubles.
I think they look good, but the color difference would defiantly bother me!

Not as bad as I would've thought. I had my own disaster trying to install mine. Put a light in the oven set the temp and timer and S*n #f A B@@CH the oven got too hot (I guess still not sure) and warped the lens cover (the clear part). SOOOOO $1000.00 later yes thats a GRAND and I have a new light. It seems you cant just buy the housing you have to buy the whole thing HID, ballast, bulbs and all. I'll be taking them to AAC and let them worry about buying the next one.

That sucks man. I would be pissed off like a MoFo. IMO, the mismatch looks bad, not horrible but not good. It's not your fault that those boys at AAC can't get an order right . I wouldn't settle for this. You didn't order different set's and I would send those Halos back. Just my 2 cents.
