Light goes on but goes out after 15 seconds

hey guys. Maybe you can help me out. I installed an hid kit on my 07 chrysler 300 limited. I didnt use the wire harness or anything just straight coneections. the passenger side light is perfect but the driver side is a different story. It will turn on and get bright after about 15 second but then it just goes right out. Is it because i have them connected straight without any relays or is it that the bulb is bad. has this happened to anyone else.
