confused about HID's, do i need relay or capacitor??

so i bought a hid kit the other day, it wont work on my 05 touring but im confused some people here say you need capacitors some say relay which one do i need to get it working? and is there a diy way of making one?

Where did you get them from. If its plug and play then you wont need a relay. The capacitor is just so they dont flicker. If they wont work then unplug them and turn the connector. You might have the polarity switched. Red to Red, Black to Black.
