Painted tail lights

I recently bought an 06 srt8 and painted the tail lights the same color as the car(metallic black) and now I get flashed by other drivers at night. Any suggestions on either brighter driving bulbs or as a last result new LED tail lights that will shine brighter through the black paint. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LED's are your best bet, but you still may have problems.

Painted tail lights

I've seen it done on other murdered out 300's and thought it looked great. My friend at the paint shop suggested either going real light or real dark...I opted for the latter. If you're thinking about it and your car is black, have the shop paint the lights the exact same color as your car(as I did), I think it makes a huge difference. I have some new LED bulbs coming to hopefully help out with the situation. Click on thumbnails for larger photo.

So the reason you went with "paint" instead of "tinting" ie Niteshades is because you wanted to color match?

Nice catch Bill...perhaps powder coating the exhaust tips is on the agenda? I've seen other cars with nightshades spray and they look great. It's just my preference that for black 300's, the color matching seems to flow a little better.
