Fog lamp relay location?

My fog lamps don't work, and the dealer is telling me that they need to work to pass inspection. It happened a while ago, I'm not sure when (I rarely use the fog lamps), and the switch no longer lights up. I'd like to see if I can fix the problem before I have to bring the car in next week, since it also needs other work, and I'd like to keep the costs down if it's something I can diagnose/repair myself.

I checked the fuse, and that seems to be ok, but I can't find anything that tells me which relay controls the fog lamps.

I was also going to try to check the switch, but I don't see how to remove the switch plate easily.

Can someone tell me which relay I need to check? And if there are any other suggestions that I can try to fix the problem, I'd be most appreciative. This is a 2005 300C.

I was going to say try checking the fuse to make sure it is not bad but if you already checked that and it is fine then I am not sure

You could always go some where else for inspection....not one single place I have taken my car for inspection ever has checked to see if my fogs work properly.

Just something that I noticed on my 05 limited that I just picked up. My 07 srtd works differently. On my 05 I can not turn the fog lights on during the day time if the light switch is in the auto position but if I turn the knob from auto to the parking light or headlights on position then I can turn the foglights on during the day.

At night there is no problem turning the foglights while the switch is in the auto position.

Grumpe: If you turn the foglights on when they are in auto (and on), then they will turn on whenever the headlights turn on. Unless your headlight switch starts to go out like mine did. I turned mine on, and.. they stayed that way. Now whenever the headlights are on the foglights are, too.

So now I'm one of those annoying people that always has their foglights on at night XD

It's in the front fuse box (aka IPM [Module-Integrated Power]). Pop the lid and look inside of it for a diagram of the layout. It's in the second row, second from the left. It's interchangable with any of the other relays in the second row, so swap one over to see if the foglights turn on.
This type relay is readily available at any auto parts store, even Radio Shack.
Also check Fuse #7 (20A) located in the IPM.

Thanks for all of the help everybody, I checked the relays and that wasn't the problem. The dealer ended up replacing the dashboard switch, and everything is working now. They replaced it with a newer switch which is different from the original- the fog lamps are turned on by pushing in the headlight knob.
