Big 2006 East Coast Meet 'N Greet: Englishtown NJ, May 20th & 21st

It's official. We've committed and the planning has started...

The Big 2006 East Coast Meet 'N Greet

The Big 2006 East Coast Meet 'n Greet will take place Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st for those that can come out either for one or both days. We will have our own pit area and tent at Englishtown Raceway in Englishtown, NJ and we will be holding this years big event during Englishtown's big Dodge weekend which will feature a handful of other events including their $10,000 HEMI Super Stock Challenge. We'll get to see some awesome MOPAR racing in addition to doing some ourselves. As always, we'll have our own staging lanes for those that want to try their hand at the quarter mile and when we're not racing, we'll have the LX Forums pit area so we all will have a point to congregate and relax and have a good time. Just remember, in drag racing, bumping is not the name of the game.

The schedule of events:

Friday Night:
We know that a lot of you guys will start showing up, as will we. We'll get something small planned.

Saturday:
to be determined

Sunday:
to be determined

Besides the HEMI shoot-out, there will also be a lot of other things going on from Bracket racing that some of you may wish to participate in to a swap meet.

Requirements For Racers:

In order to race, cars must have mufflers and seat belts (draining the coolant is not required) and drivers must wear helmets (full-face Snell-approved for cars under 13.5s in the 1/4 mile). They do rent helmets at the track for three or four dollars so you don't need to go out and buy one if you don't already have one (Hey Dano, got yours?) Also, racers must wear long pants, a shirt with sleeves (t-shirt) and shoes are a must (no flip flops or sandals). You must be at least 17 years old to race but if you are 17, you must have a parent present to sign the waiver.

Admission Prices at Etown:
To be announced at a later date

Accomodations:
To be announced at a later date

Rain Date:
We're not going to worry about this just yet.

So, that's what we have so far. A date, so mark your calendar! You won't want to miss this years event. As the planning comes along, we'll continually update this thread. We'll have a lot of manufacturer presence and support at this years M&G, lots of giveaways and prizes and contests. We're also working to get as many LX Show cars out there, too. This will be a great weekend for the whole family.

See you there!

Joshua, HHP

Thanks for the great feedback. I'll be meeting with our planning team, we're hoping, on the 11th and we'll have a lot more info then.

Expect pre-registration to begin around the beginning of March! It will take us a month to get everything scheduled and the prices worked out.

I know a lot of you guys have attended events like this before. Talking with BBH, he's given me lots of great ideas. If you guys have any other ideas that will make this event even better, please let me know. We're hoping to include lunch with the registration, probably provided, as usual, by HHP. I would love to have our own DJ out there spinning tunes. Who doesn't love a good polka?

BBH, you said that there is an AWD dyno nearby. Is this something that you guys would like to include into the weekend? We can do our best to include it if there's interest.

What are your thoughts? We plan these events for you guys and as always, we want to give you the best experience. If there's something you want to see included, let's hear.

Thanks!
Joshua, HHP

Yes, IDA Automotive has a AWD Dyno, All-Wheel Drive Dynojet 448.

Their website is not much, but it has the contact info if you'd like to talk to them.
