Things To Do While In OC For Spring Fling

Many forum members are traveling great distances to get together for the Spring fling in Irvine. Friday night is the informal meet & greet at the hotel. For the adventurious early risers on Saturday (0530 am) there is a great weekly informal car show / gathering (100 + vehicles) that takes place in Huntington Beach (Donut Derelicts - corner of Magnolia & Adams)(less than 20 miles from Spring Fling site) that runs from 5:30am until about 8:30am every Saturday morning. Cars / Trucks / Bikes from mild to wild, junkers to high dollar collectables. Ya never know what or who is going to show up. Lin is taking her new 300C SRT-8 down and i am going down in my Buick Grand National. The day is going to be full as it is (Spring Fling at 11:00am), so why not add in looking at some great California vehicles, cruise the coast back up to Irvine and make a real long day of it...lol. And if the early morning doesn't getcha, later that night there is also a local indoor Go-Cart racing track (about 15 miles from Spring Fling) that is open until 11:00pm on Saturdays (DROMO1 - 1431 North Main Street - Orange, CA 92867). Cost is $25 per race and includes helmet, race suit, neck pad, gloves, and approximately 20 - 25 laps of racing (1300 ft course - speeds up to 30 mph). This is for those that want to get their SPEED on without taking a chance on the local SoCal streets...Just some ideas.........I know when ever I drive to a new area, i try to jam in as much fun and adventure as possible cause vacations come and go....but memories last forever....Later Ray

Good stuff and great ideas SYTECH.
I think there's already a planned early more run down to Crystal Cove though to see the elite rides of OC, close 6 or 7 million dollars in exotic cars which is just a few miles down the 133.

And there's also the SPECTRUM for Shopping, Dinning and Entertainment.

Great fun will be had by all I'm sure!
