That $275 + hotel might turn into a lot of cash when you add in 4 new tires, whether bought for the track or bought after because you wore yours out.
I'll let Dr. Bob respond regarding the rules...

What I am more curious about is your quoting of a hotel price when no hotel has been identified yet???
I assure everyone I will do everything possible to arrange the most reasonable rate and convenience possible!

HEMEEE,
I also misread it the first time and had to take a second look because I knew there is no hotel with fees like that in this area!

I believe deegee is referring to the $275.00 Registration Fee PLUS the cost of the hotel, whatever it might be.... (correct deegee??)

But as you said, we wouldn't want to scare off interested members!

Open Track day at Willow Springs

Regarding the "rules" at the scheduled open track day on September 8, 2006. The basic rules are helmets, no passengers, no racing and have lots of fun.
If we see a car that we consider unsafe, for example cord showing on tires or virtually no tread, we will not allow that car to be on the track. I think common sense should prevail here. Anyone wanting to bring their car to the track and paying the entry fee is not going to show up with an unsafe car as in no tires. But anything is possible so we will be looking at all cars to make sure belts are present, tires in good shape, etc.
One has to assume some level of intelligence here. I don't think any of our members are going to bring their beautiful cars out to the track in anything less than excellent condition.

Yep, since I deal with pricing phraseology all day long, to me "$275. +" reads more than $275.00.
If you and I both read it the same, chances are others will as well. Playing it safe deegee!

So bruno, does this "we" mean you're considering coming down or just a random comment?

I didn't mean to give it away. But yes, it is highly a possibility. I'm having seriious conflicts over the SEMA Cavaran/M & G. because of my regular job. Driving to Rosamond would be a whole lot closer, too. Plus, I'm thinking my buddy 3 CNOTES could use some company on the side lines, too!

That's right, bruno, I was referring to the track fee. In my case, my tires would NOT survive a full day at the track. I'm looking for new wheels.

I've been to Willow Springs before, on a motorcycle, and I don't think you could find a room in the area for anything close to that amount. It's rather remote.

Talking List for racing....

Hello, Darn-it that i didn't see this until it was Full, can we start a cancellation list that if someone doesn't make it i can attend? Please....

I wanna wanna wanna drive my car like Dan or Chris stole it, while trying to keep up with them... are the racing gods in my favor? I sure hope so. A track day and i missed it,, what the heck was i doing? I'm gonna go cry in my wheaties now.

I found the alternate list, please add me to that and i'll pay when required, just hope to get in.

Larry

sleeper300,
you might not have to worry about that issue...
as Dan and I are both "unconfirmed"...
so you just have to maybe drive it like you stole it by yourself...
as I am still waiting for my car...
51 days and counting...
and at this rate...
it might not be ready by then (Sept. 8th)...
so I am not going to make any commitments to ANY show or event until my car is ready and back in my garage finished...

Stone-pits are a given on that desert track, Chris.

Avoidable only by never overtaking, which wouldn't be much fun at all.
