Thanks MAGNUM8R for the highlights of the track experience with all our friends! I'm sure the weather was hot but the fun and competition probably made you forget all about that. Did people forget to fill their tanks or was there just a lot of racing going on??

Regardless, have a great time sharing your stories and drinking your refreshments. We're anxious to hear and see more of it.

Be safe.

I had an AWESOME time on Friday! It was great to see everyone that showed up - it really made it fun to see all these high performance cars stretching their legs on the track. I can't wait to do it again.

It was hard to say who was the fastest out there since we didn't have any lap timers, but if you go by tire wear I think DanRealtor had everyone beat....or maybe he came to the track in this condition. From the look of his side panels he could have come straight from some Nascar race.

You know you didn't want to pass him from looking at his bumper.

Hey Dan, based on how your tire looks it seems you bought one of those 300Cs that pull to the right....how many times do we have to tell you to align your front end, eh? hahahahaha!

Looks like an awesome time was had by all......off to check out the pics.....

Man, wished I could be there, and thank you folks for the condolences given...

James

How quick was that car traveling which had the video camera?

While timing was not encouraged, for obvious reasons, some timing did go on as I found out later. I am told one of our instructors was timed at 1:40 in a Magnum SRT-8. To put this in perspective, in order to average 100mph, you had to turn a lap of 1:30 on the 2.5 mile road course. For a 2 ton 4 door sedan (station wagon) to run that fast is pretty incredible. In fact all the instuctors (except me of course) were very vocal in how impressed they were at how well the cars handled. They were very surprised they handled so well.

I rode with Dr. B...
and was probably in his car (adding more weight than he needed)...
when he turned his fastest lap...
why do I know this...

cause I asked him while we were driving...
hey Bob...
yes chris...
was that 100%?
pretty close...
other than missing a little bobble in two of the turns...
would it have been 100%?
yeah, I guess you are right - it was a 100%...
he looks over and a smile crosses his face...
ah - 300C SRT8 bliss...
oh and if you don't think the quife makes a difference - PM me...
it shaved off at least 3-5 seconds per lap...
plain and simple...
