Sacramento Fri Dyno Day & Track Night and Sat M&G: Oct 13 - 14

Hey Guys and Gals. I wanted to make sure you all knew you're more than welcome to join us for the MFO5 meet and greet event; this event will be the largest performance centric LX gathering in the history of the platform. Seriously, don't miss this!

Friday is dyno day and caps off a week full of installations and testing. Friday night we will be at the track where you'll get the chance to pit your beast against all who attend; including some of the fastest all motor 5.7s on the planet...can anyone say Meister?? And he wont be alone...

Saturday will be a show and tell type car show with plenty of tech talk and result discussion from the week before. It will also include the live premiere of Moddin Art 2, hosted by Grinner himself. Many well known personalities will be there, and I promise a couple surprises.

***Check all the M&G details here, including sign up instructions, hotel reservation info, and event locations: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=40512***

As indicated in the thread above, its pretty important to sign up before the event. Please follow the instructions for doing so. You're welcome to sign up here or there. The master list will be maintained over on LXForums.

Thanks guys! I sincerely hope you're able to make it out and join us.

This is also the intake test event that I've mentioned in a few previous posts here, and I know some folks are looking forward to.

This is going to be a VERY enjoyable event and, if you haven't had a chance to take your car onto a 1/4 mile drag strip, you can't beat doing it with a couple of dozen LX vehicles that all roll in with you.

We are also doing a 150-mile cruise the night before to break in the newly installed heads/cam combo cars (mine is one of those... woo hoo) where our destination is a locally famous eatery.

Don't just visit via webcast (we're doing that too)... be there!

Thanks, CV, thanks Matt, for the MoFO5 reminder and update for all of us who frequent 300C forums and call it home. It truly is going to be an exciting time, with new heads and cams installed and tested, then proven at the track being but a small part of the overall event.

The number of very promising looking air intake systems that have been released just since the last face-off is amazing. And we'll be testing all of them, and perhaps some that have not yet been released as well.

We'll also get to find out how much the dyno says my latest round of performance enhancements actually generate at the rear wheels. The car turns SRT8-type times. But will it even come close to generating SRT8-type numbers on the dyno? I'd be surprised. But who knows?

As Matt alluded to, the Web cast is great, but it's nothing compared to actually being there and feeling the earth move under your feet. If there's *any* way you can make it for any of the day *or* night events I can promise you it will be well worth your while to do so.

You're probably aware that grinner & his ride challenged me and my ride to a match race, with grinner driving out from Chi Town to take us on. Well, did anybody else notice the amazing coincidence that grinner's ride caught the flu and had to scratch from the big match race the very next day after my ride's new numbers were posted? Hmmm. Kinda makes you wonder...

But grinner still wants to race - in his *rental car*. I'm sure that will be a closely guarded secret, but I fully expect it to be the Mustang GT 500, or as close to it as grin' can come up with. How many seconds will he ask for?

As you can see, it's going to be a fun-filled several days. Hope to see you there - the more the merrier!

The track in Sacramento is one of the top three best in the country for pulling great times. October would be a great time to go for weather...

Sure sounds good. Be easy on them, Meister

Dude... I've been going to this track for over a year and me and every other LX have been pulling times consistently two or three tenths (or worse) than what everyone else seems to be reporting. If this is a fast track then that means we all ... well ... we just plain *suck*. Heck, Meister is the first 5.7 at that track to get into the 13's with a 13.9.

You are depressing me. I need a beer (ok I was going to have one anyway but still...)

Boy howdy it sure should be indeed. I'm hoping for high 40's. Trouble is we have a lot of moisture in the air, which leads to nasty ground fog. If we have one of those nights (we'll quit well before any fog shows up) it won't help, but at least we won't be running on an evening where the temps start out at 90 or worse.

1. Are you basing that statement on the track's very low MSL elevation, Moose? Or did you actually see Sacto Int'l ranked that high? It's always seemed to me like driving in molasses up there, with a bad headwind always present.

2. Me easy on them??!! 'Lord only knows what grinner is going to show up at the track with, Moose. I can guarantee you it won't be what he drove off the rental lot at the airport. Do they have a Rent-A-Rail outlet anywhere near Sacto? If so, there'll be grin', nomex fire suit 'n all, sending 30-inch flames out into the night sky.

So, grin - what kind of ace you got up your sleeve anyway??

As you can see, all my cards are on the table.

All I care to talk about, that is.

Yes, low elevation and the fact that the LS1 guys called me and asked if I would join them at that track if they pulled something together. I asked about the track and was told it is one of the best in the country for times. This coming from guys that frequent the track quite/very often.

Good luck.
