When is the next time there will be a meet in the NOVA area?
Hello KenK,

Welcome to the forum- Oakton is not too close to Sterling (AKA Chik Filet cruise-in) but that is where most of the LXers (our cars) hang. One warm Friday come on out, you'll have fun if you are a car guy. 5-ish.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome to the Mid Atlantic forum! I am looking forward to a NOVA forum too.

I probably won't modify as much as some I read about in the forum. I've changed the main grille and will change the lower grilles to a small mesh design when the parts arrive next week. I plan to take off the side moldings and add a rear camera when Mr. I gets done with the cable fix. The various dash kits interest me although I will probably only add a few pieces rather than all of the ones I see available in the name of understated elegance.

Other than that I can't see my doing much more. The difference between the color and illumination of standard lamps vs. various upgrades sounds interesting but I don't want to be changing them more often and it seems the standard ones last much longer. I’ll post pixs when I get it all done.

Under the category of what I call "five & dime" changes, I added a marine type cigarette lighter (ie 12v) mount (surface mount with snap cover over the opening when not in use) in the trunk under the battery cover in the wheel well. One came standard in my Navigator and I got use to the availability of it. I use this to plug in a portable refrigerator/heater unit I bought from Sharper Image. It fits nicely in the trunk and I only use it as a refrigerator to keep water, lunch, etc. cold while I am on the road. It has a 110v converter for use in the house, so it also doubles as an in room unit when I have to stay at a motel. I do get a raised eyebrow when I offer passengers a bottle of chilled water and explain I have several “in the refrigerator in the back!” I have to admit, that part is fun.

It looks like I will be able to make it to the show in Fredericksburg Saturday April 14th. I am not sure about when I can get away in the morning so I won’t be able to meet up with everyone at the Daves in Woodbridge, but thanks to everyone that extended an invite! I hope I can meet some of you at the show as I really would like to see some dash kits installed.

Again, thanks to everyone. Hope to see you Saturday.
