Welcome to the Midwest chapter of Club 300

I want to welcome everyone to our little spot on the 300 forum and say Thanks for stopping by.
So
Thank You.

The first thing we have to do is get to know each other a little and why we bought this car.
I’ll Start…..

My name is Eric Scarbro and I live north of Chicago in Waukegan.
I’ve been here since 1989 when my parents and I bought a house after I graduated Highschool.
They both pasted this year so now it’s just me and my wife of 10yrs Amy.
She’s a great gal she’s learned enough about cars I can talk to her about it.
She loves driving the 300C to work in North brook the drive down highway 41 is great she’s all the time telling me about the people looking at the car and the ones that “try” to race her.

I’m a toy collector so I spend a lot of time playing with toys so this car is one big toy for me.
I also make my own toys. Mostly Action Figuers and Gi-joe stuff.
We have a house full of animal to many to name.UGH.
That a little about me now to why I got the car.
I saw the first commercail for the 300 and knew I had to get one. I just didn’t know when or how.
Well my Dad got sick in January so the car was out of the question I had to many thing to do to think about that. I keep thinking thou some day. Well it wasn’t long after Dad got sick that it turned worse and he pasted in April. He did one last thing after his death for me.Which he had been planing since I was born. He had taken out lot’s of life Insuance. I was able to pay off every thing I needed to and had enough left over to put on the Car. This car is the Car me and him never got to restore. We had talked about doing a 56 Bel-Air his favorite car when he was young. He had a 56 with Contenial kit and the white walls it was great he loved that car. So the 300 is my 56 Bel-Air but this time im keeping it like he had always wish he had done with the 56. This car is to me the Modern Muscle car like I use to dream about in school I read ever book I could about muscle cars looked at tons of pictuers it was a dream to have a 71 Boss 302.
The Look the lines of the 300 just say muscle car to me.Its also helps that its got luxury interio so you can crusie in style. The sleak lines combined with the boxy shape just speak to me. I can’t explain what I mean but if your pasoinate about this car you know what I mean.
I had wanted to get Black do black on Black wheels chrom every thing. Well when I was looking I keep getting the same answer no black you’ll have to order it. I didn’t have the time to order one casue had to get a car my mother could get in easy plus I know if I looked I could find it. I called and called Nope no black all the black ones came in and went out ASAP. Ok so I start thinking maybe Deep Lava Red. I found one in Millwaukee I call my wife at work and she has called looking for black to nothing a few maybe call backs. So she says you know it looks like black is going to be a popular color Call that dealer tell them we’ll be up there tonight to buy that Deep Lava Red. So I did and now its in the driveway and im glad I didn’t wholed out for black Deep lava is a much richer color to me then black plus you don’t see them everyday.
On a side note I got a call 2 days later from dealer’s in Schumbruge and Millwaukee saying they had a Black one if I wanted it. To Bad boys Black Cherri’s home.

Well Whos Next.

Thumbs up I'll be Next

Greetings all from the Midwest Chapter,
I'm Angi from Milwaukee WI. I just love cars especially Luxury Sport ones. My co-workers, are so amused, and impressed at my love and knowledge for cars, which by the way is male dominate since I am a Police Officer, I was in the US Navy and travelled alot. I'm married to an Awesome Loving Man and have two Beautiful school age kids a girl and a boy. I've always had a love for cars especially from the detail end of them.
Any car I've owned I always have to add my own personal touches to them, make me feel a sense of my personality added. I don't let anyone wash my cars but me or hubby, bad experience at a hand car wash. My hubby loves cars too, I believe thats why he married me . He's into restoring old classics like the 72 Grand Prix he's just about finished with. Presently I drive a Land Rover (My Disco Queen) for the winter, since winters can so fierce here, summers I drive my 89 convertible Saab (Mrs SaabLvr) that has at least 120k miles and still runs great, now thats my baby, she is stored in winters, I had a 93 Lexus Gs300 (SexC Lex) a few years ago.
Now I have another Baby 05 300C CV (Mrs SexC). After seeing her at the Chicago Auto Show in February I fell completely in love with her, I was doing all kind of research on her. We left the show knowing we had to make her a permanent home with us. So I went to premiere night here in Milwaukee and finally ordered her on May 3rd, originally I wanted the Deep Lava Red because I figured that would be a rare color seen around here, and I love rarity but after seeing it on a Sebring I decided against it, plus I was told it would take longer then the 6-8 weeks. With all that said about DLR actually when I did see it on a 300C I would have ordered it in DLR, I learned that when choosing a color you really need to see it on the car you want it on, well we ended up ordering the 300C Midnight Blue, (with 4 options the wood pkg, moonroof, cold weather pkg & sound grp II), after my hubby saw one on the lot and took me to see it then I was like yes I want it in that color. Ok the wait of course extended past the 6-8 weeks , and on the order form the dealer had actually noted a delivery date. Which turned out to be in our favor, because we ended up with a Cool Vanilla fully loaded 300C that was on the lot with 32 miles on it, with the exception of adjusted pedals and u-connect for the same price since they couldn't deliver as promised in the time frame. Talk about jumping for joy we got more goodies that was not in our budget, saved a ton of money I'm so glad I kept looking at that purchase agreement and threatening to take our money to another dealer probably didn't hurt either . I truly believe the CV was what we were meant to have I can't express how glad I am that Mrs SexC is a new addition to our family.
My Saab is a head turned but nothing I've had compare to the attention this baby get from young to old, men to women, all walks of life. I just can't get over her. One day I had her parked in my girlfriend driveway facing the a busy street a beautiful sunny day with all the mods (20" wheels/tires, painted mudflaps & sirius antennae, b-pillars and mesh grill with the center bar) gleaming as we sat outside and my girlfriend couldn't believe the stares as the motorists drove by. It was unreal I was like girl I better pull it back before someone have an accident looking at my 300C. Four months later Mrs SexC is still the center of attention to all. Not to mention the amatures that try to race with me, I don't even indulge, call me modest, no really everytime I think about going there, I never seem to have enough road to push the HEMI like I want to. I just love her so much. Mrs Luxury & Speed what a combination! I truly understand what others feel whether they own one or not CHRYSLER has truly OUTDONE Themselves!!!! I'm truly Blessed!

Milwaukee area here too.

I saw an advert for the car, always loved sedans, was expecting child #3, and needed something a little larger. At least thats what I told the wife!

Took a test drive, and a week later, put in an order.

The rest as they say is history!

Hi Everyone

My name is Robin and I live about 30 east of Champaign, IL and work in Champaign. My husband and I have bought our dream place 5 years ago, which is a place in the country on 3 acres with 2 garages and a 30x40 building that my husband insulated and put heat in. (Also a refrigerator, satellite TV, stereo, neon lights, sheet metal from race cars, lots of banners and signs that we "picked up" at the race tracks.) We have two boys that are grown in live in Indianapolis. Our "kids" now are our dogs, one a mutt from the Humane Society named Charlotte, a one year old golden retriever named Eldora and an 11 year old Golden named Bristol. My husband and I both love auto racing. (Any yes, the dogs are named after my favorite race tracks) Tom is partial to drag racing and I love dirt track racing (We are also Nascar fans).

Okay, so that is the history on myself. Now about my car. Since I have to commute everyday I was looking for a car that would be fun to drive to make the chore of going to work more exciting. Boy, did I pick the right car!!!! My husband and myself have always been GM people (never owned anything but GM) until I saw a half hour "infommercial" about the Crossfire on a satellite channel. We went to our Chrysler dealer to look at the Crossfire. Tom took one look at it and shrugged his shoulders and walked over to a base 300. Well, we took the base 300 for a test drive and liked it. At that time the dealer did not have any 300C's. We decided that if we were switching to a Chrysler it would be for the Hemi. I put our salesmen on the hunt for a 300C and I had told him any color but black. Finally got a phone call a few weeks later from him and they had a 300C that they had just gotten in. Since we hadn't driven a 300 with a Hemi he told us to come and drive it. When I pulled up in front of the dealer's lot and saw the 300C sitting there (and of course, it was black) I bought it on the spot without even driving it!!!!

Now my 30 minute drive one way is alot more fun!!!! In previous posts people have talked about the attention they get driving their 300. That is the absolute truth!!! Everywhere I go people ask me about my car and if I like it. We drove it to the drag races in Joliet this summer and when we came back to the car there were several people looking at it. When we walked up they wanted us to pop the hood and of course, we obliged. We had a group around the car for over an hour and when one group would walk away, here would come more people interested in looking inside and under the hood. I bet by the time we finally left the parking area we had had over 30 people look at my car.

I have had people try to race me and so far I have only taken the challenge on once and absolutely blew the idiot's doors off!!!!! But I like my license too much to do that very many times.

This forum is the best and I am very grateful to have found it. The information everyone provides is amazing and so helpful especially when it comes to talking to the Service dept.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully be able to attend any get togethers that may be set up this summer.

Hey everbybody.

Sorry it took me so long to write my introduction. I live downstate Illinois. My profession is software engineer. I've been a professional sofware developer since the late 80's. I'm 40 years old, but everyone says I act like a teenager. My media room has hundreds of DVDs and every video-game system known to man (execpt a 3DO... and I'll have my hands on one of those soon). Video games are my first passion.

I got my 300 back in October of last year. Satin Jade with every option package that was available. I don't drive it much. Usually on weekends and never in the rain or the snow. If you consider the looks vs performance trend, I am definately someone who bought this car for its looks. I love the way it looks. How it performs never even entered into my mind. As I discover more and more about its performance capabilities, I'm like "WOW!! I didn't know it could do that!!" Although, I would've still bought it even if it couldn't do all of that performance crap. That's not important to me at all and didn't affect my buying decision one iota. I've modified it by adding full woodgrain kit, 20" spinners, chrome pillar-post covers, and E&G mesh grille with center piece.

I'm currently waiting to have TV's installed. There is a device (which is due out this quarter) that will allow you to hook up and view DVDs/Video Game signals on the TV that comes with the navigation system. Once I have it installed, I'll post the info, in case someone else is interested.

When the weather breaks, I'd be more than happy to participate in and help sponsor club events. My email is ghetto.prince@gmail.com in case there is a list.

Yo GP!

Indy in the Hiso.

One a serious note, what type of programming are you into? I’m a M$ developer and I focus on C# and VB .NET. As for the games, I’m a FPS on PC kind of guy, never got the hang of the thumb stick controllers.
