Welcome Ian. I see you're from Alaska. Having a truck for up there is a good choice. I spent a month at Ft. Richardson and had a great time at the "Latrene" amongst other places. Love your avatar too. I know CRP, can I help?

EDIT: Hey that guy is rolling on the floor laughing!

Welcome aboard!! We have many members without a 300, and welcome all points of view!

Been avoiding Alaska. Many in the Army like it, and I am sure if i was a civilian it would be great!! But as I'm an Army ground troop, probably freeze my butt right off.

Yup, CUEBALL, they'd probably have your tender buns stationed up at Wainwright in the frozen interior - no fun at all.

Rambit must have provided some sexual favors somewhere, BTW, to get to pull his temporary duty down in the banana belt at Fort Rich.

Oh, IAN!! Welcome aboard. I spent a few years up there myself. Great tour!

Yeah, It was pretty warm at Ft. Richardson. Not what I expected to have the Japanese current warm things up. I also spent a month around Fairbanks too and Ft. Wainwright was more than cold enough. Did my obligatory one night in a snow cave and skied in Black Rapids at -60.

Yes Stan that mean minus 60 and skiing downhill on cross country wooden bangy boards and muk luks and artic masks is not a sport done for pleasure by sane people. Our winter kit is very good though.

Yep, freeze your buns off!!

Actually, I hear -60 isn't that bad, just don't want to do it in my green suit.
Ian will have some frozen 300 tales when he gets his car, 'cause you know once the infection starts, its only a matter of time before the car shows up in the driveway.
