New to this site and YES I DO OWN A STARSCAN!LOL!

Just wanted to stop by and check this site out. As the title suggests I do actually own my own starscan. I am using it to help develop a laptop version for everyone to use. The software will not use any of the starscans current software. I only need it to decode some of the communications protocols needed to talk to the computers on these cars. Feel free to ask any questions about starscan such as what it can and can't do, etc. I would be glad to answer. I will be bringing the starscan to as many meets and greets as I can in 2006.

I don't own a 300c but I do own a Magnum RT. She started down the assembly line (hope your not superstitious) 13:07 on Friday August 13th 2004. She has not been back to the dealer since I picked it up. Over 26,000 trouble free miles.

Yeah, the project has been a blast. I have the basic interface developed and I am waiting for the connector to come in so I can do some basic requests over the bus. It is amazing to me how open the software on the starscan really is. Even the database files are from an open source database. I have cruised through several of them and found a ton of information regarding communications. There is one file that contains nearly 27,000 references to different values the bus will send. Some do not apply to our cars but it is amazing to me what does get sent across the bus. I will post some pics of the interface on Thursday (probably). I am working right now (12 hour shifts) and won't be off again until Tuesday. Tuesday, Wednesday I want to dedicate to doing some testing for the real time graphing functions. I am pretty sure the graphing plug in I have will do it, I just want to make sure it can handle rapid updates without slowing everything down.

Also been following your threads on the other forum. Very interested to see how things pan out and if you will be able to hack your car into submission.

Welcome to the neighborhood! I bet you'll get many questions over here!!

I'll start:
1. can you remove the limiter?
2. Can you enable 3 way ESP on a 300c built with the new hardware (after 31 Jul) ?
3. can you change torque management?

I'll look at the "other" forum to see what you've done so far.
Thanks for posting on this side of the aisle!
