Welcome to the forum, doodad. I've driven both. The stang is hard to launch without too much wheelspin and axle hop.

I have been challenged on the road by 3 of the new stang GT's and I have beaten all three. I got a better launch each time and perfect shifts with my 300C (non-SRT8). Mods are CAI, resonators removed, BFG KDW tires and a SC flashpak (chip tuner). My car runs 0-60 mph in about 5.7 seconds.

The factory stock SRT8 is even faster.

Without a doubt it would be a piece of cake win for the SRT-8. Every time, no matter what. The SRT-8 is so easy to launch it's scary and can cut consisten 4.6-50 0-60 times. Not just that, the upper gearing on the SRT-8 is made to run. I've raced and '01 Cobra from a roll (330hp) on the highway and even let him get the jump on me, and chased him down, pulled 3 cars up to 150 and the flashers came on....This was done 3 times.

Here's some math for you:

SRT-8 4150lb @ 425HP = 9.7lbs per HP

Mustang GT 3500lbs @ 300HP = 11.6lbs per HP

If you even think it's possible you're dreaming, but go ahead, it should still be fun.
