New SRT8 in Corvallis, OR

Hey everyone...

I am a new member here and purchased my black '06 300C SRT8 about 2 weeks ago. While I'll probably trick it out eventually, so far I'm enjoying the sweet ride. It's great!

The only problem I've noted thus far is the spakers (I have the upgraded speakers with subwoofer) don't seem to hit hard enough on the satellite radio. In fact, the front driver speaker on the dash seems to be outputting only about 10%. I took it in and was told the satellite receiver is bad and they're ordering me a new one... so hopefully that will be fixed.

Oh, also, the ashtray compartment in the front console opens, but won't close right away. But if I give it like 5 minutes it will close like nothing's wrong at all. Anyone else notice this?

There's also a few things about the car that bother me and I'd like to get fixed.

1) Can't use the Nav when moving. I know this is for safety and is probably the law, but does anyone know how to disable this?

2) The seat belt buzzer is a little too aggressive in telling you to buckle up. I always wear my seat belt but lately we've been driving around looking for houses and picking up brochures. The relentless buzzing drives me crazy and I'd love to disable this too. Anyone know how?

3) Also, I HATE how the doors lock automatically when you're driving. I'm also looking to disable this feature too.

I think my previous car (Escalade EXT) had all three of the features I don't like too, but somehow they seemed less intrusive. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks - I'm looking forward to learning a lot about my car from this site!

#2) there are step by step instructions in the owners manual that tell you how to turn off the buzzer. The light still is on but no buzzer; I do not remember the exact procedure and my owners manual is WAY out in my car, but it was very simple to do

#3) The automatic door lock can be turned off in your personal settings in EVIC (accessed thru the steering wheel controls) You can turn it off completely, or you can choose doors locking when you put it in gear, or doors locking at 15 mph.... just curious what's not to like about this feature though? But I guess you are not the only one that don't like it since it can be turned off.

I had ankle surgery earlier this summer and was still on crutches when I bought the car. It was annoying to get out of the car and have to unlock the rear doors to get my crutches. Or now that I'm healed I have to drive my 18mo old daughter around, so repeat the same procedure to get her out. Minor stuff though.

Thanks for the tips!
