New member/New Car - Vancouver BC

Hi,

Just found and joined this forum. Looks like an interesting site, as I am planning on getting a 300c very soon.

I am open to your advice in buying either 2006 300c for around 41,000 or a used 300c for 10,000 dollars less with around 20,000 kilometers.

When does the 2007 become available?

I appreciate any advice. By the way, I drove one from the dealership last week with the hemi...very nice.

Ed

HI there ed. I to am a new member. And I to LOVE my Car. To answer your question... the 2007 if I'm not mistaken are available now. And if money isn't that tight go for the new car. Nothing like owning your baby from new. You just don't know what that first 20 thousand Km have been like.

The '06 Heritage Edition (if you can find one) is a great deal right now... mid-way between the regular C and the SRT8... same MDS 5.7L of the regular C, but with some exterior and interior features of the SRT8, and some technology that only the '07 models will have at a higher price.

Double welcome to both Edc and JimmyBamSlam! Edc, I think you could do very well with purchasing a 2006 from a dealership that is trying to move the 'older' inventory off the lot to make room for the incoming 2007s. Either way, you won't go wrong with the Hemi. Keep us informed of your final decision. Jimmy, I hope you are enjoying your brand new Magnum and look forward to some posted pics.

Hi Edc and Jimmy, happy to meet you both. Edc, I also say if the $ is there then go for the new one but honestly the 2 years are virtually identical and if you have trouble deciding see if you can even save more then $10,000, then I am sure you will feel better, also check out a extended warranty to even make it sweeter, and Jimmy enjoy that RT Mag., that's one great car.

An additional question

Thankyou for the kind welcome from all of you.

What - if any, are the advantages in buying a used 2006 300c from a dealer as opposed to a private deal?

Thanks for the help.

Hi All;
I'm also in the position of choosing which to buy...an EOY 2006 or brand spankin new 2007 as I'm looking at February at the earliest. If I don't get it until June/July then obviously it'll be EOY '07. Either way, it's amazing rewding all of the insights y'all have. The threads, posts and replies may even convert me to a wrench turner for sure. One thing is a definite...I MUST have that 6.1 HEMI in the 300C SRT-8...all of that engine in a classy looking car to boot. Last year I rented what I think was the Touring (with the 3.5 HO V6 I think) and was amazed at the passing ability of the thing. I had it up to 90+ in no time. I could be wrong about the trim but I "DO" think it was the touring. Either way...after reading and re-reading the long list of "standard" items and the short list of "optional" items, the only items I would add would be Nav, U-connect, maybe the 13 speakers with amp and subwoofer and a couple of other that I forget right now. The bopttom line though is that for what you're paying for compared to the "competition" and what you get from American muscle and horsepower, there's simply no better deal around for the money...unless you have an extra 15-20K and you absolutely MUST part with it...I'd still say the 300C SRT-8 is the best deal going at th present time.
