How to download threads in a forum to read later

On vacation and so I travel a few minutes to check e-mail. Was wondering if there is a way to download a bunch of threads so I can read them when I am not connected. I'd like to download the last few days of a couple of different forums (SRT8, General Discussion, Performance Mods etc.) so that I am able to read all topics as well as all of the posts to them. Help a newbie out... is there an easy way? Thanks!

The answer to your forum question is, "Yes."

There might me more than one way to do this but here’s the method I use:

1) Create a new folder on your desktop and maybe name it ‘300c Forums’.

2) Go to the actual thread(s) you want to download for reading later off-line.

3) Right-click on that thread’s title. Select the option that says, ‘Save Target As’.

4) Then, at the top of the box where it says ‘Select in’, use the arrow and scroll to the place where the folder is already located which would be ‘desktop’.

5) Once ‘desktop’ pops up in the Select in’ space, then click on your newly named folder (300c Forums)

6) It really isn’t necessary to create your own name for the thread. Just go with the defaulted name already in the box near the bottom since it clearly has part of the thread’s name already in it.

7) Now, click on ‘Save’ and the download will take just seconds to go into your folder.

8) Continue adding your selected threads which will be even quicker since the downloads will already be defaulted to the opened folder on your desktop.

Sorry the directions are so wordy but once you do this, you will never have to read my directions again! It’s that simple!

Good luck! Enjoy reading the entire thread off-line!

Thanks CUEBALL.

The directions might be worthy of a Sticky in the New Member Introductions and Assistance Thread so that it doesn't get lost in the Off-Topic Discussions.

It took me a while to figure it out for myself even though I'm sure it's just second nature for those with far superior computer skills than mine.

Thanks. I'll work on it, but won't be for few days.... not snails pace for change, but I'm working on it.
