Wink Well, I finally made the move - and to prove it I'm here

Just got my brand new 300C Touring (in Europe that is the estate car version) and so far am impressed. A couple or rattles on the nearside doors and yes, like everyone else the express feature on the window lift doesn't seem to last for very long before it retires and leaves me having to hold the button up - it's OK going down. You say you want to know about us well - I am a 61 year old retired Traffic Cop from Scotland - but these days I am well retired and in fact act as Area Co-ordinator for the ABD which is a motorist's pressure group. My other car is a 1974 Triumph Stag which still has the hardtop available to put on (but it never is) and an original Stag 3 Litre V8 engine under the bonnet. One thing intrigues me. In the handbook it claims that the tyre sensors will display information in Bar, PSI etc, and refers me to the language section when setting up the personal settings. But I am double damned if I can figure out how to alter it to PSI (yes at 61 that is the meaningful measurement) - any advice would be welcome.

Welcome to 3CF from the Mid-Ohio Valley of the US! I love the look of the European 300C Touring. Is it the petrol version, or the CRD? I'm sure someone from over there will chime in soon enough to help with your displayed units question.

Sounds like you have a nice "other" car as well. Please show us some pictures when you can.

Welcome to the forums and congratulations on the purchase of your brand new 300C Touring. I'm not familiar with the feature in question in my EVIC but I'm sure someone else will be able to help. May you enjoy many miles of driving pleasure during your retirement.

Smile Thanks for the nice welcome

Many thanks for such pleasant comments on arrival on this forum. I hope I don't have to post problems too frequently but it is nice to know that there are fellow owners out there who are interested in helping one another.
I was asked to post photos of my other car - the 1974 Triumph Stag in Java Green (I didn't chose the colour - just the car). I bought this as a supposedly fully restored car a couple of years ago and have subsequently spent a small fortune bringing it up to the standard it is now at. I suppose "restored" is all in the definition.

Smile OK this is the new Touring

Thanks once again for such a warm welcome to the forum. As far as Lucas electrics are concerned perhaps we are used to the flippant ways of The Prince of Darkness but in all honesty you seldom hear any moans about Lucas this side of the pond.
You wanted to see what the Chrysler was like so here it is - strangely the colour range for the UK at least tend to be rather dull and heavy - silver seemed a little too brash for conservative Britain so next best thing was the metalic grey. It suits the car though.

Welcome

Glad to have you aboard. Quick question. Is the grill on your car the factory installed unit? 'Cause we can by that grill from Chrysler as an after market unit.
As an aside, I have a 1958 MGA in Tyrolite Green which I restored myself. Lucas, no problem. Just keep the smoke inside the insulation.
