Hello from another newbie

I just found out about this site and decided to check it out. It is definitely more active than a lot of sites I've seen and with so many members, I figured there must be help for me. I am not a real car guy that pimps his ride but I love my SRT8. I started with a 300C and happened to test drive an SRT when I had my C in for service one day. I couldn't resist the SRT8 power and bought it on the spot. My wife now drives the C.

Now I want to get even more power by chipping it, but I don't want to void my seven year warranty. There is probably lots of information in here somewhere about that, but can ya give a brotha a hand and point him in the right direction so he doesn't have to check out hundreds of posts. I tried the superchips link but it didn't have a drop down in the menu for SRT8 or 6.1 liter engine.

I live in Bakersfield, CA, so any advice for this neck of the woods would be great. Thanks.

Welcome Mike H from our West Virginia LXs in the Mid-Ohio River Valley. If I may be so bold, I wouldn't chip. Rather wait and see if the Diablo Predator tuner achieves it's hype, and if so spend your money on that... it probably will be one of the best high HP performers for the buck (IF it = hype). Supposed to be available by the end of this month (one month later than the initially anticipated release date, just so you know).

Ditto GTL's answer as well. It's nice to see another forum member who owns two LXs! Make sure you take the opportunity to check out the forums and see what everyone is up to as well as checking all the TSBs just in case you have any issues or are unaware of them.

Welcome to the forums from another Central Cal member where Bakersfield once was a regular summer home!

Wow...what a welcome and quick response. It looks like I've come to the right place and I'll be waiting for the Diablo

You guys all piled right on to Goofy T's suggestion. If you trust him, what can I say? Does a brand new product coming to the market usually work or should I wait for someone else to be the guinea pig?

Not being a gear head, I feel so vulnerable...I'll wait for the updates from the forum.

Thanks for the advice.

Go ahead and just do it... I was one who waited for someone else to use the 5.7 Flashpaq, it worked out and I missed a year of fun, and a better car. There is always a risk that it would cause issues, but you have that same risk just driving the car stock... you never know. Just depends on your risk tolerance and cash flow whether you do it now or later .
