Another new 300 owner

Just bought a brand new '07 300C with the SRT Design package, does that make me a shallow person? I like the big wheels & everything, plus having the 5.7 multidispacement Hemi. The last new car I bought (with 250,000 miles on it, and my wife is still driving) was a '94 Chev Caprice w/the LT1 Corvette engine. I then added the knock sensor from an LS4, reprogramed the PCM to raise the shift points, advance the timing and make more power. Until I added the Impala SS wheels it was a real sleeper. Do people still use that term or is a Q-ship or something like that? I must be getting old, I'm having a hard time keelping up with the language. The new 300C is almost the opposite, it looks like the SRT-8, but without the 425 HP. The deal we got, plus the lifetime drivetrain warrantee, was too hard to pass up. Of course, that means anything I add or do the engine will have to be removed before I take it in, but what the hey, it will probably be worth it.

Has anyone found a way into the PCM program or are we still looking at "piggy-backing" control chips to modify fuel curves etc.

My next order of business is to find some winter tires & wheels for the Minnesota winters.

Welcome from our West Virginia LXs in the Mid-Ohio River Valley. Both of our cars have been to MN over the past couple years.

Regarding tuning... the latest, greatest opportunity lies with the Diablo Predator from what I've read... I just have to wait until next year for the funds to renew before I order mine. Lots of power to be had, but it needs to be tuned to your car via a CMR dealer with a Dyno to ensure the engine doesn't go wonkers if you get the fuel mixture too lean.

Welcome oldkid. There are quite a few DG owners here who feel the same as you do too. Not everyone needs 425HP!!!

Welcome oldkid. Sounds like you are very proud of your SRT DG purchase and we all understand why. Don't worry about the 'latest language' you might see around the forums because you will pick it up rather quickly...sort of like using the shortcuts when text messaging.

Take some pics so that we can see your awesome purchase. Don't forget to let your wife drive it once in a while as well.
