Greetings From Happy Valley, Utah!

After lurking on the forum for several weeks, I finally joined. I come from driving a terribly smile-inducing and terribly impractical 2001 Honda S2000 that sounded like nothing else when bouncing the rev limiter at 9K to a 2006 300C SRT8 that sounds like nothing else shifting from 1st to 2nd with the windows up and the tach pegged at 6K.

I've had the car a little over 2 months and have put more miles on it than the S2000 in that much time. While it's not as easy to canyon carve in a car that's nearly 2/3rds heavier, wider, and longer, the SRT is the best all-around car I've ever owned.

This community is a welcome addition to my internet time-wasting routine. I have found the threads to be informative, funny, and mostly without bickering and name-calling (the S2KI community was devolving into more of that).

Anyhow, I'd like to thank everyone for your enthusiasm and in helping me continue to feel positive about my decision to buy this amazing car.

By the way, does anyone know how to turn on PMs? I am not able to send them or receive them.

Cheers!

Matt

Hey, welcome Matt!!! This is a great place to "waste time", but I love it. Congrats on your SRT8.

You won't be able to turn on PM's till you've been a member here for 10 days AND have at least 10 posts. Same goes for posting in the Buy/Sell forum. It keeps the spammers out and lets us get to know you.

When you've met the above conditions, you'll have to manually turn PM's on. Go to "UserCP", select "Edit Options" and put a check in the box for "Enable Private Messaging". After that, scroll down to the bottom and click "Save".

You might just as well continue to waste more time here and get to posting!!!

Bernie

I know I welcomed you once before in a different thread but I'm glad to see you officially introduce yourself and share the adventures you have already had with your new SRT. I see you're in Utah but wonder why you chose the infamous Cali. road for your screen name? Maybe the people of Happy Valley drank too much of the infamous mineral water from Zzyzx!

Enjoy the forums. You only need 5 more posts to activate your PM since you have already been a member for more than 10 days.

Thanks for the kind welcome everyone. I didn't realize I had to wait for 10 posts before PMs were activated (that would have been nice to know up front), but I can't hold it against anyone but myself for being lazy in posting.

I'll get at it harder in the next few days.

Hi Matt,
That was easier than using your handle - some American terms leave us poor Europeans puzzled. Anyway welcome to the forum from Scotland,
Cheers John

zz...
I'm not seeing the option of sending you a PM when I click on your screen name which makes me think you possibly forgot to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click save when you enabled your PM section in the options.

Try again. If that doesn't work, let us know and I'll send a PM to a moderator who will help you out. They might not see your concern inside a thread.

Hang in there........
