Greeting from Chicago

Hello everyone. I have recently traded in my BMW which was a 2004 330i. I could not have been happier with that car but the back seat and overall size was not tickling me where I needed to be tickled. Then, just last week, an 06 SRT8,(Black) fully loaded, basically drops into my lap while only increasing my payments $100. I could not be happier. The car is incredible.

Now, I had spent a week reading through just about every string that is out there. To remain witht he theme of this site......I am looking for some advise.
  1. I peeled off the warning stickers on the sunvisors and the passenger side one visor has a huge amount of the sticker glue on it. Goo-gone would not get it off. Any suggestions?
  2. CAI. Anyone dissatisfied with the Mopar CAI?
  3. I hate teh fog lights. With a passion. Suggestions? I really like the Halo's for the fogs but I have read a lot of people that had issues with them. Also, what did you pay to get them installed?
  4. The grill needs to go. Thoughts? I have seen a lot of them on the vendor links and I am not sold on a specific design. I want something smooth that goes with the car.
  5. I really want a rear window roof spoiler. Anyone have any good/bad stories from a certain vendor to guide me the right way?
Again, I am looking forward to many happy days in my new SRT8 as well as any advise and suggestions my new Hemi family might have!

Thank you again. Jason

Hi Jason,
Welcome to the forum from Scotland. Yes, we have 300C's over here and we enjoy them too. The standard comment is that you have to wear a big grin to drive one.
Can't help you much with your requests other than the grill. Startech is hot favourite in the UK - the so called "Bentley" grill. I have one on my car and it does set it off.
I am sure plenty of others will add their advice to the little I can give you.
Cheers John

Welcome to the forums, TrueBlackSRT8! Congratulations on your exciting purchase.

There are so many answers to your questions that you might want to use the 'search' button at the top and start checking out hundreds of posts that would show you so many possibilities. It will all come down to matters of personal taste and your pocketbook! Seeing actual pictures of members cars with the various grilles will give you some direction as to vertical, horizontal, deep dish, chrome, color matched, etc.

You would have been better off to leave the air bag warning stickers on you visors because of the goo. Some members were finally able to remove the sticky glue. However, many of us have chosen to just cover them up with alternatives.

Our supporting vendor, BilletTechnology, makes some beautiful billet 'visor disguisors' as well as one-off custom ones. Check out their website and then be prepared to get hooked on all their other enhancing products!

Streamlinedesign.com also makes some very nice fabric-type sticker to fit directly over the current warning signs or onto the space you now have available. They have all kinds of design/names or you can have something custom designed.

I don't think anyone ihere s dissatisfied with their Mopar CAI. However, many here prefer the AiirHammer or the AFE Stage 2.

Here's a thread on bright white fog lights surrounded by halos: http://www.300cforums.com/forums/lighting-discussion/42658-piaa-fog-lights-pics.html

Anyway, this is just a start. Hope to see more posts from you including a photo of your new SRT.

Welcome to the forum!! Plenty of good folks here to help out.... I see some have done so already!

I would suggest making a separate thread in the gen discussion forum for those questions not answered or found by Bruno's search advice, as many don't stop in this forum; you might not get as much attention to your issues.

Where were you when I decided to start removing the stickers????

I contacted a couple of installers and I am going to get the visors redone with the suede that is in the inserts of the seats.

As far as Billet.....they are addictive.

When the weather clears up here in Chi-Town, pictures will be added. Thanks again.

You're most welcome. I like your new idea for the visors, too. You sound like the kind of person who does their homework before making further investments and that's a good thing. There are hundreds of 'experts' on this forum who gladly lend their suggestions and advice which helps tremendously before making an informed decision.

Good luck!

I added the Mopar CAI this summer and have come to the conclusion I should have done so sooner. Worth every dollar!

Jason,

Welcome to the Forum!! Always good to see another person from Chicago on here!! I've got some answers that will hopefully help you out with your questions.

1. Check the supporting Vendor Section and click on Billet Technology. They've got a few items that would fit over where warning stickers were that you might like.

2. I've got the Mopar CAI intake in my 300C and couldn't be happier. The sound is great and am totally satisfied with it.

4. If you're going to go with a grille upgrade there are a few that members have gone with. Grip Tuning Grille, DUB Edition Grille, and the Tommy Z Grille are the most popular.

Good luck with the Mods and if you have any questions let me know or post them on the forum. The people on here are great and always willing to help.
