I have an '08 300 Touring Signature Series, black exterior with grey/light grey leather interior and the 3.5L V6 Engine. Bought it new in March '08, and it's the first new car I've ever owned...my last car was a hand-me-down '91 Camry, which I drove to the ground @ 250K miles!
I absolutely LOVE the 300...love being on the highway, love cruising around town...just love the car! I hope to start some mods on it in Jan/Feb 2009 (saving up money for wheels and a new exhaust).
I have a single exhaust on the car, and am thinking of switching to the Magnaflow 16623 dual exit conversion kit - anyone have any ideas on this? I'm quite a newbie to car stuff - apart from helping my Dad change oil, sparkplugs and brake pads as a teenager, I don't have much experience working with cars...but I'd like to try and do this myself, 'cause it just FEELS BETTER when you do it yourself!
Also - I have stock 18" wheels, and am thinking of upgrading to either 20" or 22". Does anyone have some thoughts on or experience with how the ride quality changes with the larger wheels? One more question - is it possible to take the TPMS sensors from the stock wheels and fit them on to any other wheels that I buy?
Let me be the first to say WELCOME from our West Virignia LXs in the Mid-Ohio River Valley! Glad that you're really enjoying our 300 Touring... I'm not surprised.
I can't answer your exhaust question, but I'm sure others can. As far as larger rims go... it's an easy, although somewhat expensive upgrade. Ralph Guilles, the original designer of the 300s, has said the car was designed with 20in rims in mind.
If your car has TPM already, then yes, I suppose the TPM stems and "senders" can go from one rim to the other... but you may find tire places that are a bit reluctant to switch them for you. I'm not certain of that, but just be aware and ask up front. I do know it is not necessary to match them with whatever wheel location they were before, otherwise tire rotation would be that much more problematic.
Good luck with the mods... and WELCOME once again.

In love with my first wife & first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife
but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!
We all understand your love for this vehicle. Congratulations on your brand new purchase and welcome to the forums.
Many LX owners from done the dual conversion so I know it will work just fine and sound great as well. With your model, you won't have to worry at all about the drone that occurs with the 300c models.
Hi and welcome to the forum from Scotland. You will find stacks of advice and help on these pages and really nice folks all keen to pass on their knowledge. Enjoy your car and enjoy your time on-line with us.
Cheers John
Thanks, everyone! Geez - I should've done this loooooooooong ago! Will keep you folks posted on the developments on my mods...just thought I'd upload a pic of my proposed tyres (and yes, I spent a good part of last night cutting, pasting and resizing to come up with this pic!) Let me know what you think...! Top pic is stock wheels, middle pic is American Racing Burn and lower pic is American Racing Marin...thanks!
Ross.
