Last August I was approached by a long-time friend and colleague with a lucrative job opportunity. As my current employer had been making cuts left & right for over a year, it couldn't have come at a better time. My co. car would need to be turned in, so it was time to start looking for a personal vehicle. I decided the 300C SRT8 was the one for me and joined the forum in anticipation of a purchase.
FFWD a month - bamboozlement ensues, as my long-time friend yanks the opportunity out from under me. FFWD one more month - I get laid off. Needless to say, my hopes for ANY vehicle are crushed.
10 difficult months later, I land a new job. After a week of searching, I am now the proud owner of an '07 SRT8...
I'm glad to finally be a "legit" member of the community!
Sorry to hear about the previous employment disappointments. Congratulations on the new job and the purchase of your beautiful 300cSRT8. It appears to be in excellent condition, too!
Glad to hear you found another good job (hopefully at least) and we know you've found a great vehicle. WELCOME from our West Virignia LXs in the beautiful Mid-Ohio River Valley!

In love with my first wife & first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife
but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!
Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone. 7 weeks in to the new job & SRT8 - both working out beautifully (although I must admit the SRT8 has exceeded my expectations far better than the job has.)
My previous personal vehicle was a '96 Chevy Impala SS (the B-body, not the horrible excuse for a sedan that's running around now.) I loved that car and the LT1 engine, but going from it to the 300C is like going from dating the homecoming queen to spending wild nights in a big city w/ a runway model. My dad, who has had his share of nice cars, even described it as "one bad-ass vehicle."
Much like the LXs, the B-bodies had quite a following and loyal online community - one of the things I liked most. I sold the Impala back in '04 in prep. for our first child (switching to a co. car to saved significant $), so finally being able to participate in another group of "car people" makes it that much more enjoyable.
Now I just gotta get my remote start programming issue resolved.
I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying your new ride and that the job is working out for you. I like your comparison to wild nights with a runway model
