Unhappy How to turn traction control TOTALLY off

Whats up peoples? I just got a 300C-M Hertage Edition to replace the Mustang I lost under salt water in Hurricane Sandy. It was the perfect reason to convert to a MOPAR. I read several posts on this site and others on-line on how to TOTALLY turn off traction control. I tried the two different suggestions: the "while rolling above 15mph shift to neutral and turn key to start position" and I tried the "while rolling above 15mph in drive turn key to start position" and I did each one with the ESP button on and again with it off and the only result I acheived was a light in cluster that looked like a picture of a person sitting in a seat with a bubble in front of them (which I assume is an air bag). It did not make the ESP and BAS lights go on and no chime to signify any change.
PLEASE HELP!!!
I need to be able to turn this friggin thing off so I can actually enjoy the 5.7 Hemi and help support the tire manufacturers.
Again, I NEED HELP, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!

First off - welcome to 3CF!

Congrats on the new ride. Post some pics when you can.

On to your question - you really only have two choices from what I know.

#1 - NoESP device from Z Automotive. I'm actually selling one right now in the F/S threads, but unfortunately I think it's already spoken for. You tap this into the purple/light blue wire which you can find in a few places (I can give more detail if you need), and then you tap it into the stock ESP OFF button. This then gives you the SRT function - press the ESP OFF button for partial turn off, or hold it down for full turn off. This is a stealth install option.

#2 - You can achieve the same function by just tapping a switch into that purple/light blue wire. I've added a control panel in the pouch next to the gear shift, which is why I decided not to use the Z Auto device. So I have a toggle switch that is in essence always ON - and I can switch it to OFF... which effectively cuts the purple/light blue wire - and that's how you cut everything off and have some real fun.

I guess there is a third way - you can simply unplug the harness under the center console where the purple/light blue wire goes and it will shut everything off if you want to give her a spin to see what it feels like. But obviously a switch is a better long term solution.

And remember - this doesn't just shut down traction control. This will shut down everything... yaw, ABS, etc. So make sure you are driving safely when playing.

Good luck! Feel free to ask questions if you need.

The ways Fisch said are the best. I didn't have any luck with the key trick in my '06 either. Frustrating when others claim to be able to do so.

The key trick won't work on a 2006. As Fisch suggested, go with the NoEsp switch. It works. You may get a lot of trouble lights if you run with it off on the street all the time, though. I reserve use of mine for those special events and for racing.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome from Rochester NY!
I think the best way is as Fisch stated above.
I have a Z Automotive product and back it 100%
Good luck!

Holding the button only works on SRT8, not on a 5.7

Try holding the key to the start position about 5 seconds while driving any speed above approximately 5-10 mph WITHOUT putting the car in neutral. This works on my 2006C Heritage even at cruising speeds. In order to reengage you will need to restart the car. This is how I dyno the car as well. Good luck.
