Boston tint place?

I'm looking a trustworthy, reasonably priced tint shop in Boston. Can anyone recommend any?

Actually, can anyone recommend a type of tint too? I'm considering 35% mirror tint all around (including the windshielf), will that get me in trouble here?

Hope I can post here without any issues as I am not a supporting vendor.(Although am interested if anyone is listening....)

Yoonie,

I own a speedshop in Worcester, MA. Its about 35 miles west of Cambridge, and we can give your car just the right tint. I would not recommend the mirror tint, as it is very illegal in these parts, and I would also not recommend tinting the windshield.....Keep in mind that during the day, 35% blocks 65% of the sun, and at night it blocks 65% of your vision.

If you are interested, feel free to send a pm or call 508-890-7810.

thanks in advance,

John

I take my cars to a place called Tint King in Billerica

www.tint-king.com

Very good quality from the 3 cars I've brought to them. They use a laser cutting machine (Tint Tek 20/20) and a heat shrinking method which works very well.

Oh, and Mirror tinting will be illegal (And in my opinion, tacky). Platinum tint is the most reflective you can ge before it becomes illegal.

And remember, the window has to read 35% for it to be legal. So your windows have a natural inherint tint to them, for your window to read 35%, and therefore be legal, you'd have to do a 45% or 50% film...

In my opinion, thats too light. I did my 300 in 50%, and I did my Cadillac in 35% and the 35% looks much better.

As for brand of tint, I have always been partial to 3M color stable films. They are a little more expensive, but they are slightly thicker than cheaper films, so they're more scratch resistant, and the dye is specially coated so it will never fade. Cheaper tints tent to take on a purple hue after a couple of years in the sun.

Had mine done at National Auto Mall, 200 Everett Ave. Chelsea ( 617-889-0600).Front sides -- 45%; Back sides & rear --35 %. For total % add 15% ( from factory). Total cost $ 220.00 ( good workmanship, this was their first 300. State law only allows a 6 " sunvisor tint on front windshield-- results-- would be tacky at best. Any questions feel free to PM me.
GOOD LUCK
Charlie

Tint king for me as well. I have brought almost every single car I have owned over there and there have been many.

Brian is the best around.

And as far as the tint getting anything close to illegal is a tough call in MA there are alot of ball busters around. I was pulled over on 93 in early morning rush hour traffic for my tint which was 20% on the fronts and 5% rear. He gave me an ultimatum of peel or get a ticket. I peeled it. So I was out the cash I paid for the tint plus the cost of retinting.

When you call Tint King tell him Mike Crosby in the magnum sent you.

Anything (%) under 35 is illegal, personally I have 20% all around, and it looks even darker at times because of the solar tint on the factory windows, but it looks hot. I dread the day I get pulled over and get a ticket . Whatever you get make sure it is seamless tint. Iwent to Boston Auto Design, they tint only on Sat, price varies depending on what you get...Good Luck!
PS Don't get mirror tint...
