That's doable, but see other thread about NY meet

We're trying to get a more central locale as some guys may be coming down from upstae.

Are we going to do one of these meets?

There's an auto show on Sept 11 in Mamaroneck. Harbor Island

Off I95 in Westchester County.

I am calling them this week for particulars. Not sure if that's too far for everyone or not.

It's close for me and about 15 minutes north of the Throgs Neck and Whitestone Bridges for the LI guys. I know it's a hike for Lennox comgin down from Poughkeepsie.

I'll see if there are admission fees, etc and if they let new cars in. They sometimes cut these things off to nothing newer than 1971 (the last official "end" of the muscle car era)

I'll keep everyone posted.

I could also go out to Riverhead if there are enough of you guys that want to do that

. I just want to get together for a meet and see some of your cars.

Chas

Hey Big Bob,
I'll be at the Oak Beach Inn parking lot tommorrow morning with my 300c. Huge meet. Tons of old muscle cars, hot rods, vettes, and of course a few 300's and magnums. Last week there was a magnum srt-8. Pretty cool place. Gotta get there by 8 a.m. to get a spot.

Here's directions to OBI:
At the end of the bridge, take the Cross Island Pkwy south. take it all the way to the Southern State Pkwy heading east.Take the exit for the Meadowbrook pkwy south and go all the way down to Ocean pkwy east.Take Ocean pkwy past Jones Beach (you will come to a circle with a tower in the middle go 1/2 way around it and continue as if you were going straight) continue to the Oak Beach parking lot (about 7 miles or so) . You will see all sorts of perfomance cars pulling in. It usually starts at about 7:30. The earlier you get there the better because it fills up quick. It's really a nice ride on a sunny sunday morning. Just watch your speed as you will be tempted to open her up on the two lane road and it's a good place to get nailed.

Today I went to The OBI at the south shore, thought I would run in to CoolVanila, sorry that did not happen but that place was crazy, as I pulled in I felt like I was home, every great muscle car of all ages @ bikes were there. The best part was when I was leaving a huge crowd was cheering on all the great cars @ bikes from long ago till now. All I remember is the large crowd yellin go go Hemmmiii, as I tried to smoke my AWD wheels, nice try.

Smoke isn't everything

It's tough to smoke these tires. The traction is so good, they just grip. Of course I don't know how you could do it with AWD.
