And it wasn't even close. The winner was our Democratic Republic. The loser was the SCOTUS Citizens United decision, the Justices who shoved it down our throats, AND Karl Rove. Billions of dollars were spent by billionaires and corporations to buy our government and it made not one bit of difference.
This election was also a wake-up call to the Republicans that they need to work with the President and Congressional Democrats to solve the most pressing problems our country faces. I hope there will be no more obstructionism of the kind Mitch McConnell called for four years ago. The People elected them to do the People's business, not vote No on everything the President tries to do.
This nation is moving forward, and the Republicans would do well to come along with the rest of us, or they will experience the same thrashing in 2016 they got today.
Agree, 2.5 million difference out of 120 million voters is about 2%, that is very close using the old math that I know and love. Some states have a difference of about 50,000. Florida has it 49.8 to 49.3%, a difference of less than 50,000 out of 8,250,000. Also to the original poster please do not assume we all here share your extremely partisan opinion. I hope the President will show some leadership qualities and work with all members in Washington. Spare us your opinions on the old blame game. Calling out certain Americans that you obviously disagree with is something that I do not care to read about either.
I would not jump to extreme jubilation or jump to any conclusion about moving forward; 8% of our workforce is out of work, others are not even looking for a job, a climbing deficit is a problem, terrorism is on the rise, Ambassadors to foreign countries are being killed and still we have a unforeseen impact to all of us from a Federal health care policy that over 50% of us disagree with. That is not the way I for one see any positive movement! Wall Street sure did not share your opinion of the results yesterday.
I sure hope you and others who think like you have very generous employers or many people will be working less than 35 hours per week or will lose their employer provided healthcare very soon. See how $1000-1500 per month for coverage works out for you. You ever try to get a procedure approved at a Veterans Hospital? I have and I am a Disabled Veteran and it is no fun. I know it would impact my humble budget.

Kinda of a hypocrical statement since Obama raised nearly if not 1 billion dollars in his re-election campaign. You thinks its so great, but what your gonna get is alot hurt and anguish-cause their gonna hit your pay check hard with more taxes. Lets not forget Obamacare- which will put alot of people out of work once employers really figure out how much its going to cost to insure their employees. Look also at food prices going up along with just about everything you buy in any store. Let not forget about the Carbon tax that was killed, is going to be back on table along with harder regulations on oil production and oil drilling which will have a severe impact on what you pay at the pump. Won't surprise me to see a gallon of gas to close to 8 bucks a gallon. Also interesting the drastic drop the stock market dropped after the election. Wouldn't surprise me either that our credit rating drops again. Yeah, real good that idiots re-elected Obama.

4 mores of things getting worse, is more like it. No comprehensive foreign policy, a rising inflation rate, a recalcitrant jobless rate, disjointed environmental regulations, higher medical costs, reactionary internal politics, a Republican Congress, a Democratic House and a monetary system that is backed only by faith and being hammered by a ever-increasing deficit.
Yup...let's all stand up and sing,
"We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again."
I was OK with the Republican Party until the Christians hi-jacked it. Luckily Romney won't pick the next S.C. Justice(s). We don't need faith-based legislature.
Wait until Obama grants amnesty to millions of illegals. Who do you think they'll vote for in the next election? We're heading towards a socialist society.
