Beautiful color! But get that damn soda can out of there. Have you lost all your marbles Congrats again Ken.Can't wait to see ya run that beast
Ha! I didn't even realize the soda was there until I downloaded the photo from my camera to my computer. I need to be more observant when I take pictures
I rarely see any SRTs of any kind on the road. Mine was probably the only one in the entire county. In my area, everyone drives a Prius or some kind of luxury car like a Mercedes C class, BMW 3 series, or possibly a Lexus. Pretty much nobody cares about cars where I live.

I know that feeling. There's a drifter / crapbox scene here (no thanks), a couple of niche groups (SRT-4s, Evos, autocross), and of course the requisite old school muscle crowd that thinks anything with 16"+ wheels and air conditioning is futuristic shit. I'm the only 2nd gen 300 SRT for at least a 100 miles. Oh, there's tons of other 1st and 2nd gen SRTs... but they're not driven / owned by car people. There's even a black '12 Charger SRT up the street from me, but they don't care.
Non-car people should be relegated to beige Camrys for simple identification.
I gotta say it again; hot damn that Shelby is a nice ride.

That's why I come to this site. This is the only place where I can talk to people who are truly interested in cars. There are a few guys I work with who "like" cars, but they don't know much about them, and don't seem to care about what they own. There is one guy I work with who only buys Fords. He's got a whole fleet of Mustangs, Ford Trucks, and old classics too. He's a show n' shine guy and has never tracked any of his cars. I keep trying to get him to come to the track with me, but he "doesn't want to abuse" his cars. I keep telling him that's why we buy them. I asked him why he would buy a fast car if he doesn't plan to drive it fast and he says "he doesn't want to break anything". That is a big fat waste of a car if you ask me. If you break something, you fix it.

Nice pics, Ken! I had a Cobra back in 86 - really enjoyed it. Nowadays I run against a lot of Stangs at the local road course, but have yet to come up against a Shelby 500.
Thanks for your kind words about this site. There are truly a lot of real 'car guys' here that actually drive their rides the way they were meant to be driven - and that's what keeps me coming back, as well.

Even though I own a Mustang now, I still enjoy coming here to talk about cars. I have never found a better place to come for information. I hope I can still get together at the dragway with some of the members here like Bob and some others who I have met over the past several years.
I think the Shelby GT500s are pretty rare. I almost never see them in my area. I know they build a lot of them, but for some reason they are a very rare sighting on the street in my area. I do see some at the drag strip every now and then.
