The avatars are limited to a max of a 100x100 pixel square, so doubtful if Prowlerman's banner would be accepted upon sign up.

So the profile picture and the avatar(pic) go to the avatar area and not in the signature area of a post, didn't what to play with it until I knew for sure....

Hey Gary, let me try...

The signature is text you choose to display beneath each post. No photos or graphics here, only icons.

The avatar is the pic or graphic image you choose to display next to each post. I suppose you could attempt to post a banner here if it conforms to the allowable specs as stated in the rules and regs of the forum.

The profile photo is a photo, usually of yourself, that you choose to display in the profile area of the User CP. Other members may 'click' your username to learn more about you. It does not appear in your posts.
