Arrow Me, Luke, and the O Stress Emblem - the FINAL chapter.

In case you missed it, this post is in reference to the following posts I made HERE at www.300cforums and HERE at www.lxforums.com about one of our own. Read those threads for the background. I won't go into it here - as that is all past history.

I must admit that I was extremely hesitant to dredge this topic back up again, but after giving it some thought, I felt it was important to conclude this story in an appropriate manner for a couple reasons.

This post is to provide an update as to how everything turned out - for the sake of completeness and, in all honesty, to be fair to Luke. He "finally" did the "right thing" and, after what we put him through, this action on his part needs to be made public for the sake of continuity and to balance the story. Here goes.

After both threads were unceremoniously closed, Luke and I exchanged several "terse" emails discussing the finer points of our dealings. I won't bother posting the details here as they no longer serves a purpose to do so. I can always do so later if the need were to arise.

Suffice to say, that Mr. Luke Stouffer finally relented and saw the light and I received the following (edited) email from PayPal on February 20.
Quote:
-----------------------------------
Payment Details
-----------------------------------

Amount: $55.00 USD

Subject: PAYMENT TO STOP YOUR B!&@$ Fit

Note: SEND ME THE EMBLEM ASAP!
So Luke refunded my money!! Although his attitude still appears to be soured and unrepentant, he DID suck it up and make amends.

I waited a few days and verified the transfer of the money into my checking account and, as I said I would, I shipped the emblem back to Luke via USPS Priority Mail on February 23. Tracking shows that the emblem was:
Quote:
Delivered, February 27, 2006, 5:37 pm
When I shipped the emblem on February 23, I emailed Luke to let him know:
Quote:
Luke,

I shipped your emblem back to you today.

It was shipped via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive Saturday or Monday at the latest.

Please let me know when you receive it.

Thank You.

Randy
I never did hear back from Luke. I think I know why. Regardless, I did send him another email today before I made this post:
Quote:
Luke,

According to my records, the USPS shows that you received delivery of the emblem back to you on February 27. I never heard from you, so I just wanted to verify that it arrived OK.

I'm sorry for all that happened over this. I am going to make a post on the boards today indicating that you finally "did" refund my money and that I sent the emblem back to you.

Take care and good luck in life!!

So that about wraps it up in my eyes. I already have a spotless grill (Thank you Mr. DJ!) in the hands of the master himself, O Stress.

O Stress has agreed to work his magic on the grill and produce another stellar emblem for me as a gesture of kindness on his part. (Thank you O Stress!) I'm sure Jeff will be shipping it to me soon and when it does, I'll let everyone here know about it.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who showed their support during this entire ordeal. I'm positive that the "pressure" which the members here and over on lxforums brought forth helped immensely to bring this to it's ultimate conclusion. Hopefully we ALL learned something from all of this.

I know that I did. And "maybe" Luke did too.

JFF

Nice to hear everything worked out, FINALLY! Seems like he still has the same attitude though, but who cares at this point? Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do for the principal of it.

JFF,
Thanks for posting a follow-up to a former memory of this forum. Although Luke appears resistant to an attitude change, he ultimately did the ethical thing by resolving your experience with the appropriate restitution. And, one can’t forget the generosity of our own good member, O Stress! Case closed!

Glad its all worked out. Sometime we change without admitting it to ourselves, most of the time its reluctantly, but in the end it always ends up for the best. Here's to Hope...
