Exclamation Warning:Hennessy Performance

I happen to be a Corvette owner and a member of www.corvetteforum.com, I am in the market for a Jeep SRT-8 and I happened to notice that Hennessy Performance is heavily advertising in the Chrysler market.
John H. really shafted some Corvette and Viper owners awhile back and I just want to give you guys a heads up, and maybe even John himself can chime in on his past deeds, hopefully by being armed with this info you can make a better informed choice on who you give your money to.

Lots of people are aware of his past practices and he's been raked over the coals over this here, including references to what you've pointed out. Since he's been here, I have to admit he seems to have gained respect and I've not heard any complaints about his business paractices at all.

Always 2 Sides

There's always two ways to see the same thing and with myself i always give a fellow the benefit of doubt, until I 1st Hand see the underhand deed.

If thats the case here, then time will show JH for what his character truly is, until i see or experience that then He's an up-standing guy whom i've bought Parts from and had No ill experience with yet.

Although his Prices are Very High for the performance recieved, i feel he has a Market Demographic he's used to and most his Customers expect to pay a premium for His Service.

Good Day.

Croozer,
time to move on...
this issue was raissed over 8 months ago...
and I was one of the first ones here to assail the fact that we were even allowing Hennessey on here with all of his past misdeeds...
(this was back around the same time you pulled your stunt with me)...
After reading several posts from fellow members...
and perusing several other boards with more satisfied customers...
we all said let bygones be bygones...
and John was accepted here with somewhat open arms...
kind of a "let see him prove it" attitude...

Well he has and then some...
Since that time he has proven to be a consumate business owner...
he has performed and completed the work on every person's car that I know that has posted here before ANY money had been paid...
the work was done and completed, then payment received...
this (I can only assume) was done to alleviate any issues that might carry over in people's mind from his previous bad business experiences...
not one person has had a complaint about John or his business...
not once has John refused to share his industry knowledge when asked...

oh, and by the way...
he adopted a family I believe from hurricane Katrina...
not many of us can ever say that...

So to John Hennessey...
KUDOS to you my friend...
I was a non-believer once as well...

You have turned your life around and have my respect and I would imagine many others from this board...
I thanks you for your contributions to this forum and to our education as "mini-gear" heads...
Keep up the great work...
Sincerely,
cbutler32

Croozer, thanks for posting this. I had no idea about Hennessey's reputation before your post started me reading. I'm certainly interested to hear all sides and hope that more is posted here.

Some of the people on this board knew this history already and have informed opinions, but there are surely others like me who are much newer to all aspects of the tuning business.

I see this got moved from the SRT8 area to the off-topic area. I guess moving it out of the SRT8 area makes sense, as long as they also move the posts that are complimentary to vendors.

So I thought the best place to move it would be the Problems / Dealer Service forum. Oops, guess who's sponsoring that one?

I would still bring my car to him one day edit: (not the V6)......and I can't wait!!!

From his posts that I've read on this forum & others, he sounds like a stand up guy. Thats my first impression, & it's gonna stick.

Happy,

Sponsors here simply pay to advertise. They get no immunity from criticism (just search for Naviplus!).

That being said - when someone wants to draw attention to the character of a specific company or individual (negative or positive), heresay and second-hand opinions are just idle gossip, in my book - and not worth the cyberspace they occupy.
