IN what can only be described as a belated concession speech, BMW's chief stock holder, the Quandt family, acknowledged plans for yet another Gilles-designed automobile. This time taking sedan form, the new 540iyi (pronounced, "eye-ya-eye") is certain to placate die-hard progressive BMW fans and take the European market by storm. "We were brainwashed by Bangle and his neo-con-ists supporters," admitted Greg Rasmussen, CEO & Chief figurehead, "it's not our fault we fell for his stylistic panache & twisted logic."
Revamping the company's entire product line will clearly take time, experts agree, but it has to be done. If only one car at a time.
